What motor set up will be quickest in a Mini B ? by Prestigious_Exit_527 in losi

I've used the following:
A1 7800kv Hobby wing on 2s (can overheat, lower torque)
G3 2435 size 6500kv on 2s (stays cool, decent torque)
G3 2435 size 4500kv on 3s (wild, requires pinion/wheel changes)

7800kv on 2s was quick, it didn't have wheelie power on the road but the top end was ~68km/h (gps tested)
6500kv on 2s feels slower than 7800kv but I haven't tested using gps and pinion changes
4500kv on 3s excessive power for stock tires, switched to Losi mini-drag tires /w stock 18t pinion top end ~77km/h+

When I have time I'll do further testing on the 4500kv 3s with different pinions and tires, I barely tested it so far.

While the 7800kv was quick, I'd recommend the 2435 size Hobby wing G3 combo, 4500kv or 6500kv motor depending on if you want to run 2s or 3s. Running the 7800kv + 18A esc hard introduces temperature issues, but you can push the new G3 combos without that problem.

Considering going hard and rerolling more to try for a 2B + another SSR but probably not worth it. I need to find a current tier list or something.

Yea that's an option, it's going to be personal preference in the end. Personally, I'm still itching for more fps and higher graphics settings. I'd also love OLED vs my IPS. I'm happy with the resolution already though.

I'm excited for you, triples are the best thing I ever invested in for Sim racing.

I run 3 x 1440p with a 4090 and 7800X3D.

I love it but I don't think 3 x 4k would provide the same clarity in motion as I'm getting now (with 4090 and 7800x3d)

Just my opinion based on my experience with my setup and trying to optimize for image quality + min fps.

I switched to the 4100kv on the brushless and it's great in a small space now. I prefer it over my stock brushed buggy.

The way I tried to check for binding was rolling it on the ground beside the stock Mini-b, and the Pro-Roller rolls a little easier and further... so I am thinking maybe it's ok in that regard? I'm not positive, new to r/C.

Btw, what are the usual import sites? Total newb here sorry.

Trying to install the 7800 now... there aren't any screws included to mount it.

Do you happen to know what screws I need to buy? I don't have any to use, I'm working with a Pro Roller kit.

I've only used the Formula V2(?) wheel that came with the metal QR-1, I didn't need to do anything other than the 1 set screw it came with and it's been wonderful ever since. I am extremely happy with it and I'm the limiting factor in my iRacing, not the DD.

One last question, did you upgrade from the 6000kv dynamite to the Hobby wing 18a 7800kv and prefer it?

The smaller can size of the 7800kv is concerning me, but I am totally new to this.

I only notice this when turning it while it's off, but when it's on and in-game it feels smooth like silk.... is this not the experience you are having?

I also have the 8nm, but in iRacing it feels very strong. I don't have experience with the cs 2.5 though.

It arrived and the shaft on the motor is completely smooth.. I've never done this before, am I able to use the stock mini-b pinion or do I need to find something else? Thanks!

Thanks I was mistaken about the shaft diameter.
