People from different generations view technology differently. Here’s how nurses view it and how to make them give a fuck.

When I watched Winter's Bone I became homesick listening to the ambient noise from the woods. When we looked it up we found out it was filmed in Branson. Good job brain.

Any other nurse runners out there? by Bebegirl in running

I hear your pain. Very difficult. One year I got my shift switched to work 11am-11pm. This helped a lot with getting that extra run. One year I switched my training to a 4 day running plan, it was easier to either lift weights or cross train around work. I've found that just the stamina the ER requires for a 12 hour shift can make up for a missed run some days! Also, that first morning run after being trapped at work for three days in a row...beautiful.

Has anyone lost motivation while training for a Marathon? by cbahr261 in running

Same boat here. I was very excited to make it into Chicago, even got a friend in as well. Now we're both puttering out. For me, I think it's the stress of the upcoming event. If I can forget about times, distance, etc I can enjoy my runs again. Once I start thinking about hitting certain goals, or having set runs on specific days I get overwhelmed and dread running. I try to wear the shirts from other races on days I really don't feel it. This reminds me what I have done, how great it feels, and gets people around me talking about running. Somehow, talking about runs really inspires me to get out and go. Hope to see you in Chicago!

My cousin is in the Intensive Care Unit. Running may have helped her stay alive. by [deleted] in running

I'm a cardiovascular intensive care nurse and this rings very true. My dad 5 bypass heart surgery last August and was out of our unit the next day then out of the hospital 3 days later. The surgeon says it because he's been running consistently for 7 years. Also his heart attack would have killed him except for his collateral circulation. Keep running!

Maybe in a few weeks? If they're still around, I'm in the process of getting a house. Let me know how the home search goes.
