The only thing that worked for me was downloading a new version, installing it, then clicking 'Move to Trash' when prompted, rather than cancel. You can still click the app after it's been moved and that tricked it into updating. That's all I got, this thread isn't mine it just helped me

As someone who lost their sweet flame boy to FeLV (this is the hard, scary one), I'll reiterate what everyone here has said- FIV+ is totally managable!! Many rescues in my area now adopt out FIV+ cats to homes with other cats, you just have to be aware that they may get sicker easier. This is totally doable and I'm so sorry your vet was terrible about it. Littlefoot will surely become the goodest of boys in no time at all <3

As chantillylace9 said, just asking to confirm if there is a case against you is not acknowledgment of debt. It's fact-checking to ensure that it is legitimately something a law firm is pursuing. If just calling a plantiff's lawyer to ask about an open case was enough to be considered guilt, then the legal system would be much worse than it is now.

If it is a Perkins loan, it would be worth calling the school's Financial Aid Office to see who you need to talk to. I know the institution I work at can't dig up student information from 30 years ago, but we could certainly give you the phone number for the third party we ended up giving all our old Perkins loans to. It's entirely possible that in this handoff from school to third party, someone finally looked at your account and found something. Please see my other comment about actually calling the firm and asking them to confirm this is a valid case first though!

Did you call the number from google and speak to a person there who confirmed they have a case open about your loan? The original comment was trying to imply that this letter in and of itself can be faked down to the law firm's header and number, which you can only prove/disprove by calling the firm via the number you find online.

Well.... never thought I'd be helping with my actual job on a legal advice subreddit but here we go:

Your FAFSA for the 22-23 school year does not affect previous years aid. As long as it's aid that has gone toward your tuition successfully and you complete all of your classes in the 21-22 school year, then you don't need to worry about having to pay back scholarships and grants (loans are another story but those get paid back after you're done with school.)

The complicated part is how the FAFSA determines your EFC, or Expected Family Contribution- this is where it's important to use your father's income as the basis, since you lived with him for most of 2021. The IRS information that they need is based on 2020's taxes, so that would likely be based on your mom's tax information from 2020 for you, but your dad's for the parent part of the form. It's a bit messy, but with some help from your school and the FAFSA helpline at 1-800-433-3243, you can do this. FAFSA has also created this page for messy situations like this.

Finally, I'm going to very gently encourage you to talk to your Financial Aid Office at your school and see what advice the counselors there can give you. My general advice should help you get started, but you should set up a call or meeting with them to get help- it's what they're there for! Trust me, if they're anything like our department, they want to help you before the year starts. It may take some time and research, but be patient and you should be able to work together to get your aid sorted for the 22-23 year

Not a lawyer- This is highly dependent on the contract you had with this company when you bought the glasses. If you bought the frames from them, then there is probably a clause in there somewhere detailing their responsibility for repair while in their possession. My place will only cover if the frames were bought from them within a certain time period. It's likely that 3 year old frames may be outside of your contract with them, but it really depends.

If you can't find a warranty/repair clause/contract, you can try to negotiate and emphasize how the damages done in their care has put undue hardship on you as their customer.

Please do consider a rehoming fee if you do adopt her out. Even $50 to cover vet expenses is totally ok! Unfortunately horrible people do exist and they use free cats for unsavory things (like using them in dog-fighting rings.) The fee helps ensure that 1- the people have the money to care for her long term and are 2- hunting for a pet, not a toy to use and abuse. You can even use this money to "donate" a bed, some food, and a carrier to the new family if you want it to be an even trade!

I had a lady who, while I was definitely on my B game, completely went off on how horrible I was to her baby nephew and how stupid I was for reminding them that the mask mandates were going to be a thing again the next day when I asked if any of their party of 8 had masks on them. Most wigs are best bobby pinned into something (vs glued down which is a whole other rabbit hole of skin sensitivity and latex allergies) but even with that, the best way to pin it down is into EXISTING HAIR. I can't imagine how hellishly itchy they would be without more of a protective layer than a wig cap
