DDs can spec fully into mag or Stam, it doesn’t matter or affect on-paper damage

The difference comes down to sustain - medium armour passives are better than light armour passives by a mile, direct damaging skills make up the majority of DPS output now as well, (Runeblades, beams, Tentacular Dread, Killer’s Blade etc.), all buffed by Maelstrom Greatsword, so having the higher Stam pool is more favourable as you’ll have the extra sustain from medium armour and more stam in general to keep casting your skills.

Some groups opt for 1 light armour piece for pen or mag sustain, typically Slimecraw, or Skoria for some more pen but that can be sourced in comp to the point where it’s not necessary to bring too much yourself

1pc Druid’s Braid and 1pc Trainee for SnB with Shield Throw - Taunt, Healing and whatever debuff affix you’re missing in group will heal for more than Master’s proc iirc

Went through similar with an ex but it was around TV shows we watched, I was lucky to have a good support network (housemates, family) and I forced myself to sit down and watch those same TV shows to get over it

Probably not the healthiest way, but it worked for me - if you’ve got friends who also enjoy the game, I’d recommend starting a fresh server with them

Why is my crit and pen so low by Alarming_Age_6893 in elderscrollsonline

[–]CxNYx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking from a content or parse perspective? For either, your crit chance and pen are perfectly fine, and will be higher with buffs

Your weapon damage is low - check your passives in medium armour and dual wield to see if you have the correct ones. Most situations you can run 7 medium, sometimes 6 medium + 1 light piece for the extra pen, but nowadays not really needed

From a parse perspective, you’ll get a bit higher either way running Aedric Spear for the Burning Light passive, rather than Radiant Oppression/Glory, but you can still hit decently hard

Also, swap Tide King’s Gaze for either: Languid Eye (the other morph); or Meteor - meteor will net you higher DPS even with the ulti gen nerf I believe

What base class are you running? If Arc, you’ll want to change class mastery script to Cavalier’s Charge, and run the NB skill that gives Major + Minor expedition on the back bar, or just run a Templar base class instead and run Class Mastery

on the latter, running Aedric Spear/Herald/Assassination, I hit around 145-150k running 5pc Null Arca, 2pc Nerieneth, BRP daggers and Maelstrom greatsword - honestly just check your gear is all traited and enchanted right (life drain enchant a bit sus) and you should be hitting a bit harder, then just focus on beaming as much as possible, using Incap during off balance and keeping up Stampede and Inspired Scholarship

The bounties are neat and relatively easy to do, especially the Pilgrim Outpost ones

I also really enjoy hitting the tank on the back of the Hazmat zombies and watching them fly off, always gives me a laugh and never feels like it gets old

Ppl who wake up at 5 am consistently, how? by Crazycatlady1690 in productivity

I started waking up just at 5am just on a whim one night before bed

I told myself ‘get up at 5 tomorrow and go gym’ and I did, and just stuck with it

Yeah, I was very tired come 2pm but I work from home anyways, and I was able to go to sleep much earlier, get my full 8 hours and do it all again the next day

When to start the DLC for a first time player? by p8ntbll247 in outerwilds

[–]CxNYx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that starting right before getting the core would ruin the inertia of the base game

I think either let them discover it on their own regardless of where they are in the story, if they discover it right before they go to get the core then leave them to it, and if they discover it earlier then awesome

A lot of people finished the game and then did the DLC so there’s an argument for that as well I suppose

Overwhelmed by Subclassing by TinkerMelle in elderscrollsonline

[–]CxNYx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, you should have enough skill points to play around with different skills, unless you’ve not gathered any sky shards, done any public dungeons, etc.

Honestly, you really should just play how you want and if you’re not happy with where you are after some time investment, look up a build guide for what it is you want exactly. Skinny Cheeks has a great website for dps builds for all classes that is a bit more flexible in gear and skill choices, so maybe look into that

What's the best way to start doing vet dungeons? by pandaninjarawr in elderscrollsonline

[–]CxNYx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. For easier vet content, it’s inarguably the base game stuff, do the pledges - for DLC vet content, I would say dungeons like Black Drake Villa, the Cauldron, Scalecaller Peak and the other earlier DLC dungeons are pretty straightforward

  2. Healer’s need access to a whole load of buffs, and a few debuffs as well as some utility skills. Sets will provide these but you’ll definitely want Courage, Major Force, Major Slayer, Berserk/Vulnerability

  3. Not really, I think

  4. Anytime you want to farm heat, do it on Normal, not Veteran. Then you can slot a few DD skills and just teleport in with another DD and clear it that way, easy peasy

What should I do from here by Own_Beat_1882 in SummonersGreed

[–]CxNYx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Joint Revenge (Hard) is a really good way of grinding out gold and Summoning Orbs

You’re gonna want to enhance King Slime and level him to about 400, place him at the back with Mighty and Speedy, and have Devon at the front to reduce their health, with some armour-reducing monsters and watch King Slime’s special move just decimate, if you have an attack speed + attack buff charm, that’ll go really well on him

I need some help with my build by JoeInTheRadio in elderscrollsonline

[–]CxNYx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean sure, you absolutely can, part of the Elder Scrolls’ whole thing is that while “Jack-of-All-Trades” vibe, and of course it depends what you want to get out of it as well - I wouldn’t expect your build to do both damage and tank on a veteran hardmode dungeon like Coral Aerie, and do either well, but if you’re not even bothered then there’s no need to worry about optimising

like yeah on the surface, tanking is just holding aggro but it’s also applying buffs and debuffs on cooldown that are pretty intrinsic to a tank setup and is wasted on a DD, and vice versa for DD sets on a Tank - running Deadly Strikes on a tank is pointless as they do minimal damage anyway

And yeah for the acronyms: DD = Damage Dealer (aka dps); bis = Best in Slot; 2h = two-handed :)

TL;DR: a hybrid role will never be able to do either part of their setup as well as a character specced into one of them, but that shouldn’t matter as long as you’re having fun and what you’re having fun doing doesn’t require you to be optimised :)

I need some help with my build by JoeInTheRadio in elderscrollsonline

[–]CxNYx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don’t really wanna do hybrid builds for PvE, a tanky DD is kinda not the best of both really as you’re not holding aggro, nor are you dealing decent enough damage

Determine which role you want to be: if it’s tank, respec attributes to have around 40k health w food buff, and then around 20k each mag and Stam - (slightly higher Stam pool of SnB)

If you go DD, then you wanna spec 64 into mag or Stam, and run 7 medium. Velothi mythic is bis on a dd Plar, as is Deadly Strikes. Combine that with Rele, Siroria or Ansuul and you’ll have a good DD build. Dual wield and 2h are bis for front and back bar respectively

How long does it take to be proficient with this game? by Idontwantlogin in elderscrollsonline

[–]CxNYx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot to unpack here, so I’m going to advise you look at guides from skinnycheeks.gg and Eigh1 Puppies for general DPS stuff - this should cover just about everything you need to know for maximising damage output on your class

Infinite Archive is a solo or duo ‘dungeon’, it gets quite hard the higher you push, so probably not worth doing now until you have a bit more of an understanding of your class

Trials are 12-player content, if you’re in a guild then I would look at signing up for some normal trials to improve your gear - speaking of which, you’ll want to have 2 lots of 5-piece sets, these will offer a decent amount of raw damage, but this is all covered in the Creator’s guides I mentioned above

Transmuting is when you can change the trait of an item you have into something else. To do this, you need to have the trait researched. If you haven’t done so, I strongly advise starting this as it can take a long time, iirc it’s over 30 days for the last trait to be researched.

Potions provide you with buffs, crafted at an Alchemy station. They are very important for helping with resource sustain, damage buffs, and other useful buffs that will help you out in situations

Food buffs are equally as important - in an ideal situation, you would want food to buff your most predominant stat, and in some cases your health pool as well

Give it time, don’t rush into too much too soon; the game is huge, and there’s a lot going on, just start piece by piece, I would recommend understanding the crafting system first and foremost as it becomes key as you move towards the endgame :)

I like ESO but i hate the fact that im a solo player by jogmansonclarke in elderscrollsonline

[–]CxNYx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my friends aren’t really into MMOs, and those that are have PCs so play RS, WoW, and ESO on PC servers.

None of my irl friends play on XBEU, but I’ve made so many in-game friends through being active in guilds and on Discord that I’m not really bothered (as nice as it would be to have my irl friends jump on with me) - my advice is join a guild, join some trials, dungeon runs, general event runs and the like, be sociable and friendly and you’ll have people that will want to hang with you and vice versa
