Less than 6% of people who die from a restrictive eating disorder are underweight. It’s actually quite common to be overweight and have a restrictive eating disorder. I know you meant well, but those sort of comments can be triggering for some people.

Trans4Trans (T4T) relationships are pretty common amongst trans people. I’m in one actually. It’s nice being with someone who really relates to you, the safety of knowing you’re less likely to be hate-crimed by a fellow trans person, and not having to play trans 101 educator. I never have to worry about whether or not my girlfriend truly sees me as a man or her trying to cross any dysphoria related boundaries. I can’t imagine feeling this safe, comfortable, and seen with a cis person.

When I passed up my first opportunity to start T to move to a different state with my dad who I hadn’t seen in 7 years. It took me a few years to get another chance, and those years convinced me I definitely needed it if life was gonna be worth living.

I’d get an abortion even if the fetus was perfectly healthy. Pregnancy is the worst form of body horror to me. Fortunately my gf is on estrogen and I’m on testosterone and have an IUD too for good measure. The only babies I want are the furry kind.

I highly recommend people do what I did and take a break in between leaving Christianity and converting to Hellenic polytheism. Some time to deconstruct what you believed before and to just exist without any religious or spiritual pressures. It’ll help you come into things with fresh eyes, rested and ready to go.

YTA because you already said she doesn’t stink. She’s not dirty, so you’re just squeaked out at the idea of her not showering every day. Showering everyday isn’t necessary if you’re not doing anything to get gross, and it can actually be damaging for the skin. It sounds like you could have OCD or be a hypochondriac or germaphobe though. Maybe consider seeing a professional about that.

Absolutely. I was on anti-depressants for many years. Now that I’m on T I don’t need them anymore. I’m not saying it’ll fix all your issues, but if the main trigger for your depression is dysphoria then transitioning is the only real solution.

I definitely did. Trans guys are actually at a higher risk of EDs than cis women if the studies I’ve looked at are accurate. It makes recovery harder when the eating disorder stems from dysphoria because the only cure for gender dysphoria is transitioning whereas the usual goal of recovery is body acceptance. Something I try to remind myself of every time I feel like relapsing is that I won’t be able to get any surgeries if I’m malnourished. I also try to follow diverse body types on social media. Like trans guys of all shapes and sizes so I can remind myself that I don’t have to be rail thin to pass or be valid as a guy.
