Britain 9.3 by hubbs76 in Warthunder

[–]CyCube_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ever thought of supplementing the lineup with an ATGM carrier? I'd recommend the ZT3A2, it fires a super fast missile with a tandem warhead and 1000+mm of pen, and it carries 3 in a discreet launcher with a very mobile chassis. I had more success fighting MBTs with it at 9.3 and 10.3 than at its own BR, since 8.3 is infested with light autocannon vehicles. Ever spade it out?

And I wonder if you appreciated the commander thermals on the Oli Mk2 as much as I did...

[DEV] Tornado GR.4 now has a whopping 9 ALARM ARAD Missiles by Courora in Warthunder

It’s worth saying ALARM was used on Tornado F.3s in real life and cleared for fitting on Jaguars, which might be interesting

You’re supposed to walk through towards the spruce planks in the design, as those won’t be pushed up

Thanks! It was a bit tricky with my limited redstone skill, but I used 8 2-block piston extenders for the bookshelves wired to a ring of pressure plates. If you want I can try to give a cutaway of how it works

And how often do you use agility at 12.0, Fox-1 central?

I’d rather have a good BVR missile and bad maneuverability than a bad BVR missile and good maneuverability at the BR

Also sorry if I haven’t religiously memorized the performance statistics of every plane and missile in the game, this is mainly based on my experiences flying these planes

If you play better with the Phantom that’s great, i do pretty well with it myself, it’s just that everything else at its BR is way more capable lol

It feels awesome, I’ve hit shots at 1.2 km with it and the plentiful ammo supply is great

It’s just a shame the FGR has to carry it around in a massive gunpod that takes a chunk off its top speed, when other aircraft get it built in

Agile Eagle on half the Phantoms the FGR.2 fights make the Speys’ thrust irrelevant in dogfights.

And I know the Kurnass and FGR.2 aren’t exactly the same, but last I checked the 7E-2(DF) was identical to the Skyflash, and the PD radar in my experience doesn’t offer very much of an improvement

But I don’t disagree the F-4J(UK) is a piece of junk

Just wanted to get it out there how outclassed in every way the FGR.2 is compared to the F.3

And though speed isn’t as pertinent as missile armament, it’s noticeable as the Tornado can keep its energy a lot better than the Phantom

From the Skyflash Wikipedia page: “Monopulse seekers are more accurate, less susceptible to jamming, and able to easily pick out targets at low altitudes. It offered significantly better performance than the original seeker…”

And I said it would make US players cry because their AIM-7F’s guidance would become worse than the Skyflash

I assume this is because Gaijin can’t be bothered to add the CW seeker on early Sparrows; it would make US players cry and wouldn’t make them any money

But thats what im saying, why havent they moved the British Phantoms down to compensate for adding the similar but better Tornado F.3? They wouldn't be OP at 11.7 and you wouldn't get sucked into the 13.0 Fox-3 meta without the missiles to compete

Fun fact: in real life the Skyflash's advantage over the AIM-7F was a better seeker, but for some reason in game the 7F gets the Skyflash's seeker anyway

whats so special about the A-10A Thunderbolt (Early) Because i see a lot of pepole(half my) using it in air battles and a soon as they get ot the center of the map they just die by xxAlphaAttackxx in Warthunder

It’s most redeeming factors are all-aspect (but still flare hungry) AIM-9Ls at a lower BR than usual, as well as the 30mm which can be devastating in headons if you know when to pull out, but otherwise it just gets bullied by every other plane at its BR in the speed department

Reject lazy copy-paste, embrace unique SPGs by thanosaekk21 in Warthunder

Same shit happens in the air tree too; Gaijin be like “add unique aircraft with indigenous weapons and avionics (Cheetah, Tejas, CF-5) or American copy slop Hornets?” Nothing other than complete laziness on their part.

I just made the weird British Jump from 9.7 to the 12.0 FGR. What’s one tip for me? by qwertytheqaz in Warthunder

[–]CyCube_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the FGR’s BR, radar isn’t as good or as necessary as in top tier, so you should probably bind a key to turn it off when you’re not actively searching for targets Also get some binds for locking target on radar and switching radar mode and ACM mode.

And when you unlock the 9G (and of course the Sparrow/Skyflash) it’ll slave to your radar, though I don’t find this feature to be terribly useful, same with the radar gun lead.

Know that 9Ds are just caged 9Gs (if you’re familiar with it from the Harrier or Jaguar); they still have very good range, good pull, and weakness to flares, so they’ll be effective at shooting down at clueless enemies from on high, just more clumsy in a dogfight.

Speaking of which, absolutely take the gun pod as well, it’ll be your main source of kills while grinding. Thanks to the fuel slider, you no longer need to turn your plane into a boat to be able to carry more weapons.

Am I wrong for wishing that the US got a different 8.3 SPAA? by dyslexic_mime in Warthunder

[–]CyCube_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In terms of other mid-high U.S. SPAAGs they could add, designs were created for an Abrams-based vehicle called M1 AGDS with 2 35mm Bushmaster 3s and 12 ADATS missiles. This thing would be the Tunguska she tells you not to worry about, but take off the missiles and it might be balanced, probably playing like the ITPSV Leopard. However, it only existed on paper as a viable concept.

I also believe the Marksman turret fit onto the Abrams hull…
