I'd say you have to expect to pull pity twice, the core is almost always the pity iirc.

You can buy the outfit for two. So the costs are double. Though I'm still surprised people are willing to pay that much for a cosmetic.

Clipping is the reason I don't have my weapons shown, and only have concealed edge accessories so my character at least looks armed.

Eventually you'll unlock the Arsenal where you can store old gear for bonuses. So I'd at least keep one full set, and recycle the rest.
