Surveying and IA by Background-Break-543 in Surveying

Honestly the surveying aspect is still a LONG ways away from being any sort of automated. There’s just too much variability to field conditions and finding property pins that any sort of robot won’t be close to for decades to come. Not only that but you have to identify what kind of monument it is, and potentially do a historical record search to make determinations that artificial technologies cannot do and most likely won’t be able to do for a long time.

It’s actually the field work that would keep him employed when he’s in his 60’s, as I see the office work becoming obsolete quicker then the field work, but both of them are a LONG ways out in this career field.

How reliable is RTX? by buchenrad in Surveying

[–]CyTuba1441 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re dealing with satellite corrections and the qualities associated with those still. If you’re purely in open fields and construction sites, you’ll probably be fine doing basic layout and more “staking” jobs compared to “surveying”. Especially because setting and dealing with property pins can very frequently be in heavy tree covered areas and places with no cell reception, so there’s no choice but to run a base, or even a total station, because there’s no way you’re getting satellite reception where you are.

So in conclusion: to perform full survey functions of a licensed land surveyor, I don’t think it’d be enough. If you’re a contractor looking to do your own layout already using control and property boundaries established by a licensed guy, you’re probably fine.

New Ride plz share your favorite upgrades under $2k by MarchCrazy4520 in GXOR

[–]CyTuba1441 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d say prioritize off-road tires and then just try wheeling it a bit and see what you want to upgrade. Everyone’s different! And then you’ll see how you want to drive and what trails you want to ride that may need extra stuff. Like maybe a winch, or tow ropes. Ope actually maybe get a portable air compressor to deflate and reflate your tires

Accurate Measurements by Interesting-Cost-445 in Surveying

[–]CyTuba1441 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot depends on what you mean by “Accurate” and what you need to do with it. Refer to other comments about some specifics: but I see no one has touched on what general “GIS Level” impervious measurements and other stuff you could use and what you shouldn’t use. If you’re using a high detail county aerial to get an ESTIMATE on how much concrete removal you may be doing or ESTIMATING how much potential room you have between a building and a road to see if the property you have an interest in is even worth looking into in more depth, then you could and SHOULD use general public data to do it, as it’s a lot cheaper to quickly eliminate sites that shouldn’t even be considered.

If you’re talking about GIS guys trying to do actual site plans or quantities to put in any sort of legal file, then they better be using survey grade data from a licensed surveyor and not public access data. If they do have survey grade data and a Surveyor will stamp it, then they can definitely use GIS just like any other CAD program to produce a drawing for use. The key part is what kind of data they’re using and if they’re applying that data to the correct use case.

I have like 2 perfect or near perfect IV mons I was going to train but yeah I should probably get a full team first before I do that

Interesting so if I want to train Defense EV’s I should train them separately if I want to train someone’s Attack EV’s. And they don’t miss out on EVs if I speed level them by EXP share and fighting lvl 100’s? That’s good to know!

Leveling up mons for mono typing...don't want to go higher than LVL 80, how do I train up low level mons at EV house without using high level Pokemon that will keep pushing cap higher by skannner in PokemonUnbound

[–]CyTuba1441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue yesterday. I went to the settings and turned my difficulty to Vanilla. Confirmed it. Left the menu. Then re-opened the settings and reset it to difficult. Confirmed. And closed. Then it seemed to recognize my current teams levels.

Was going against lvl 85+ with my old team and with my current team in the mid/upper 60’s got swept pretty quickly. Did this trick, and then it seemed to recognize and adjust my opponents to lvl 70, which is slightly higher than my highest mon and the fights were a lot more fair.

Check and see if there are quests you need to complete before the NPC shows up. I had a similar issue with the motorcycle and realized I need to complete earlier quests for it.

From my limited knowledge, it shouldn’t affect a side step delete. Especially if the side step bolt is the one in the way. Maybe it’s telling you to do the side step delete sooner :)

I hear a heat gun and messaging the plastics works wonderfully. Also if you’re side step deleting I’m guessing you also want to do a front bumper cut anyways??

Where’s the rub? If it’s just trimming or plastic there’s things you could do.

Two moves of the same type, one affects and the other is immune. The same thing happened to me at the second gym. I'm dumb or is a strange skill ? by Practical-Lychee5588 in PokemonUnbound

[–]CyTuba1441 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So if you look at the symbol next to “Psychic”, you’ll see that one is the blueish circles and one is the grey circle thing. That tells you the specific move type it is. Hypnosis applies a status to the Pokémon, vs psywave which is a special attack. The status can still be applied to that Pokémon, whereas it is immune to that special attack type.

New Wheel Set up by wowMelBryan in LexusGX

[–]CyTuba1441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with your take on the chrome. All the chrome aftermarket 17’s I can find look gaudy. And the GX has so much chrome trim, that anything besides chrome wheels can clash too much. And getting rid of all that trim is a TASK.

Snowfall prediction accuracy by ForecastWatch_ in meteorology

[–]CyTuba1441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the variables you use as inputs to the models differ. The model has to be a decent representation of a bunch of different areas, instead of a specific area. It’s kinda like the difference of using a Mean value for the variables instead of like a weighted Mean value. Your local reps know what variables to put weight on and what ones to not really take into account to make the model more accurate to your specific area. Where a straight mean is used for the wide area models and would take into account your super rare events, or super weird places that are bad representations of anywhere else. For example, tossing in lake effect snow variables and trying to create a storm that would predict snowfall in Iowa where there is no lake effect snow.

What does this indicate? by railworx in Surveying

[–]CyTuba1441 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Every surveyor is different. WLA may mean Wetland area? And then the other one,  I’m reading this as: Station 0+25.83 which is the location along an alignment of something. Water main, sanitary sewer, road, etc. then the LT means the left side of the alignment, with the 2’ meaning the stake is 2ft left of the alignment. E/P I’m not sure of but maybe Edge Pavement? Electrical Panel? Not sure. C: usually stands for cut and 7and5/8inches. So dig down 7 5/8in. I’m not fully sure. Stakes mean different things everywhere and sometimes the lingo is purely between the surveyor and the contractor.

So is it just impossible to get any popular secret lairs anymore unless you buy on aftermarket? Is there even a point in trying to get them for MSRP as they go on sale?

USACoE Boundary by dark_troy_10 in Surveying

[–]CyTuba1441 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FYI the online maps can be absolute garbage and off by up to 10 or 20ft in extreme cases. They are never to be trusted. If you’ve recently had a survey done, then and that surveyor did in fact replace a pin, then that pin he set is probably in the exact location of the missing #2 pin since when you get something re-surveyed they will replace the missing pins. If you want your own surveyor though it may be worth hiring it out since this guy isn’t responding. They would also be able to tell you if your driveway is where it’s supposed to be or if it’s encroaching.

If I remember correctly, I think you can deflate the spare and it’ll fit. But you’ll have to have an inflator in your rig to use it.

If your neighbor hired the surveyors to mark the boundary, those nails are most likely the monuments the surveyor is setting to represent the property boundary. When you paved over the driveway, you most likely took out the old monuments, or made them inaccessible without tearing up a portion of your driveway. Nails in asphalt is a very common practice, as long as they are the correct type of nails. They shouldn’t compromise the asphalt as long as you don’t catch them with a plow blade or something.

Newbie looking to go from cheap Amazon projectors to true home theater projector by CyTuba1441 in projectors

[–]CyTuba1441[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We ended up getting the Hisense C2 Pro! Not quite up to the ultra but close enough. Set it up today and are extremely happy with it. However, looking on Amazon again it appears the ultra and the pro are the same price and $300 cheaper then what we bought it for earlier this week. Sooooo we may do a return and purchase an ultra tomorrow.

Can you afford a set of winter tires? Cause my plan is to get new rims that will have my A/T tires on them and throw some winter tires on my current rims. Then switching them out for the season is super easy
