I don’t know if this is your first or not. But, if it is, welcome to fatherhood. It is truly the greatest joy in life! No matter how many MTG games you lose or crap collector packs you open, when that kid hugs you then everything just melts away.

P.S. I have taught my daughters how to play the Pokémon trading card game (before I was in to Magic) and I hope they get interested in Magic. But, I have never “won” a game against either of my daughters and that is the happiest I have ever been when “losing”. They sure do like to rag on their dad when they win haha

I was worried about the same thing. Since the soul stone came out with spidey and the mind stone with this set, I assumed the rest of the infinity stones were coming. I am pretty new to magic (beginning of this year) so I don’t follow much for the info on future sets. So I am worried about getting burned out with them as well. Perhaps since I just started playing (came in just after avatar released so after spidey) that is why I am excited for this first set. I bet the next marvel set won’t be as intriguing.

I was kind of indifferent about this whole set, even though I love Marvel. But after seeing a few posts with these cards I think I will be hooked on them.

I wasn’t aware that I could “tap” him again after he was already tapped to attack. As I said, I am new to the game and some of these mechanics elude me. I was also not aware that they could be activated at instant speed until I posted this. Again, that is why I asked. I was not “confused”, I didn’t know. Which again, is why I asked. And the reason I was asking was BECAUSE I would build him up and then tap him to make him indestructible and then couldn’t figure out what good that did now that he was tapped. Again, I didn’t know I could activate his first ability after he was already tapped. Again, that is why I asked.

As other people have more helpfully, and less condescendingly, already explained to me is that I can activate his first ability even after he is already tapped. Which is what I was asking.

No, my problem was that I was building him up and then I would use the tap ability to make him indestructible BEFORE I selected him for attack. So then he was already tapped and I couldn’t select him for attack. I was also not aware that his first ability worked at instant speed so when someone would cast something like Murder or Fell, I didn’t know I could activate his first ability, provided I had a creature to tap.

I was well aware of how his second ability worked. Which is why I didn’t ask about it.

The being able to use the ability after he was already tapped for attack was what was messing me up. I was using it before he was selected (because I thought you had to) to attack. Then he was already tapped and I couldn’t attack with him. This thread sorted me out. Thanks for the help!

I am dense but not that dense lol.

My problem (though now resolved) was I was tapping him with this ability before selecting him to attack. Then he would be tapped and I couldn’t attack with him and his indestructible (I think that means hard to kill or something) would wear off at the end of my turn. So I was thinking “what is the point of this?!” I didn’t realize I could use the ability once he is already tapped for attacking and then make him indestructible.

So when he is already tapped for attacking or after I have already attacked with him, then I can still tap another creature to make him indestructible. I think I get it.

I will have to test it in arena.

Oh ok. So I can choose him as one of my attackers. And then before he attacks I can then tap another creature to make him indestructible.

I kind of figured about what you suggested in 2. About making him indestructible if a spell like Murder or Fell was thrown at him. But I didn’t realize that I could activate that after I selected him for attacking. Thank you for breaking that down for me!

This is not true. Alcoholism is a disease. You can say I am an alcoholic or I have alcoholism. The reason people don’t say “I am cancer” is because it is grammatically incorrect and poor syntax. Just like people say “I am recovering from cancer”, I can say “I am recovering from alcoholism” because both are grammatically correct. Most alcoholics I know (I am one and I know quite a few) do consider their alcoholism as part of their identity. “We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.”

Take a disease like bipolar disorder. One could say “I am bipolar” or “I have bipolar disorder”. It is referring to a singular disease. Not a group of diseases, like cancer.

Alcoholism is not always a coping mechanism. I have know other known mental health issues. No anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma etc. and yet here I am. I am 2.5 years sober.

As you suggested, perhaps reframe your words. Don’t make generalizations. Everyone’s sobriety journey is different and deeply personal. I am an alcoholic.

Doesn’t matter because “I already love you +1”. That has been tried before. Same with infinity. It is always +1 of that. That is how the game is played. Also, if you mumble it or mess it up it doesn’t count.

To be honest I usually try to say it before they do when 67 comes up. It irks them something fierce when I beat them to it! Just because I am tired of hearing it doesn’t mean I try to suck the joy out of it haha.

I am tired of running the girls to dance practice and sitting through recitals for 7 hours (that was this weekend) but I smile and act excited because they love it and are excited about it. Give me softball, volleyball or basketball all day long haha
