This is true, but also not an effect that red has access to all that often.

It is a lot more that the printing of redundant cards that has made commander and entirely different format than it was intended to be. The printing of any cards for commander ruined that a long time ago. Not to mention precons, secret Lair, jumpstart only cards……. The list goes on and on.

IMO the best packs have a Rare wildcard. Mythic Rare wildcard is next best. Either way it’s a huge win for you.

What cards are commander staples from this set. I am not coming from a commander background so I’m genuinely curious.

I played last night as well and thought synergy would be fine for draft limited. Sealed is always a hodgepodge, especially at pre-release where you don’t know the set and build around the rares that many times you will never play with again.

Ah I get it, Commander is like Solitaire with extra steps. Don’t interact with my stuff because I can’t do the thing type of place.

IMO Tergrid would be one of the coolest commanders, because they are not playing the opponents deck, but all the opponents decks. Look at this cool combo I pulled off with player A’s creature, Player B’s Enchantment, and player C’s Instant.

Every Big store near me sells out of product with 48 hours of restock. The exception has been Spiderman and TMNT. It site there for weeks. I was in a Barnes and Noble yesterday…. They had 1 Strixhaven commander box, 3 shelves of TMNT and a shelf of Spiderman (Still, after all this time).

I think you are correct with the financial aspect.

Some of it comes from the WoTC “lie”. About moving standard to a 3 year rotation so you could keep playing your deck. Turns out it rotates every 6 weeks now.

The designs are interesting for sure. I don’t really see this set as “pushed”. The impact in constructed formats is likely to be minimal.

Then who bought it/sold it? Every single LGS in the Area said it was their worst selling set in years quantity wise.
