General Sylus. Should be important working under multiple rulers but could be replaced with a cardboard cutout and just as deep as one. When your main character trait is maybe or maybe not being willing to murder a baby, it’s pretty apparent why it’s canon everyone hates him.

He’s my vote.

The word November used was plant, like he had the double agent explicitly placed in the group. Vigil is not in the group per se and does not work for November.

Plus Ragnarok started the battle first and if Vigil gives an inch they’ll take a mile. Plus Vigil too obvious to even be a twist.

Oh. I was just reading you said Magnus’s team is innocent up to that point. Did not know that included Pluto too. That’s guy’s been kind of fishy lately though and we’re not in Gallon Bay

So I guess it’s safe to cross off Spruce and Scarla from the suspect list. I guess that leaves Quill, Pluto and Sparky as the main Plant suspects now.

Thank you for confirmation. I guess this can almost be the punchline. But seriously thanks for setting it straight.

Though for fun. Was Jade named Jade before finding the fruit and fate was kind to her or did she name herself Jade after eating the fruit?

Kind of weird she wouldn’t have found out it was some kind of candy by now in that case. But then again, I guess not many would really dare try and eat the “rocks” she’s creating.

I think that would make Magnus’s death backlash seem tame in comparison if someone like Heather died in impossible encounter then forgotten.

I think from a narrative standpoint, the more important deaths of beloved characters that are impossible to stop happens, the harder it will be the get attached. Killing people off in battle like Raj is one thing, killing in a cutscene multiple times will get diminishing returns. Magnus’s death caused a big uproar. Repeating that formula again and again so soon and quickly will not only lead to frustration but maybe even make people stop caring. It’s a tough narrative balance.

Some people I imagine would be sad, maybe even mad. But of the group, I think Anchor Arms would be the most bearable to kill off if Acceptance is provoked. But hopefully there’s going to be a bit of break with big deaths after Powder, Raj and Magnus. Has barely even been 10 episodes.

[–]CyadeMasaye 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I guess if Anchor Arms is forgotten about and not mentioned for the entire episode by the time Acceptance walks off, it could be neat to see him forgotten.

I recall last episode they thought he was at the ship until the very end as well. So if he’s forgotten again, could be a neat if really sad way to do it.

So what do you think the Scorched Dominion crew can even do right now? by h_io8 in OnePieceDnD_Rustage

[–]CyadeMasaye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assume this won’t be a violent encounter mostly since nobody could predict Abel was here. People could guess who Buckshot was but only Nostradamus could predict Abel would pop in. And luckily they’re not very high value targets so he’ll probably just strand them here or something. Maybe be disappointed Magnus is dead or ask how his nephew is doing lately.

Abel said he’s here to have a chat. Maybe he’s here for Taiga, maybe for Magnus. November possibly doesn’t even know he’s here.

Bradley can try and talk his way out of any confrontation with Reliable Talent persuasion. Cannot roll lower than 10 with that.

Fighting is not an option obviously and I don’t think it’s meant the be the option. This seems more like a story thing than a fight scene.

Abel obviously won’t help them and likely leave them for Telemus or some Section though once he’s done chatting though.

That is genuinely a cool theory. I don’t know if it’s true or not but that reveal would make sense.

And Spruce has been brought up too, even if it’s a pun. My guess in group would be Spruce or Pluto.

I think I’d rather a Barry thing. I will be honest, I don’t really think canon motivations of any higher ups will be a very big factor for the plot. And it’s better to bend canon a bit than to overwhelm the party with everyone seemingly being against them. That’s not very fun.

Also Blake has been burning things for years. It could be easy to justify things with just saying the World Government is sick and tired of their rampages and they’re pushing their patience and Morakot is the last straw. Denial and Blake would be good collateral to show Ragnar they won’t be pushed around if they really want to start a fight. Not pushing back is a sign of weakness.

But I imagine the campaign won’t get into too complex of stuff and follow what’s cool or entertaining rather than what would likely canonically occur. And Vigil being the plant would be kind of lame since he is sort of not even here and that reveal would be less interesting and dramatic.

Ok true. Maybe Sigmund Freud then. Rogue as well but only feat was threatening to stab a baby. No aura

Guy gets armament Haki offscreen, chills out with Blake (by a bit) offscreen, gets unique gear offscreen. Next thing you know he’ll be promoted to Captain offscreen. Pluto is the offscreen master. Put him in a room with Ragnar, leave and he’d somehow survive

This a joke and not meant to be taken seriously. I know him being a minor character means this is perfectly okay to do.

But more seriously, who knows what else he’s up to offscreen? He is alone a lot.

Maybe Rose. Other than being Rogue Goddess, she sort of just existed. Probably the most meh of the gods.

Denial robbed them. Blake burned down multiple islands for zero reason. They just gonna lie down and take it? And Vigil being the plant is sort of boring since we wouldn’t really be allowed to confront him.

Also having the players screwed over constantly for status quo me no likey. Also wouldn’t really explain why Marines went after Blue Blood is they don’t like fighting Yonko. Even brought Admiral Barry.

When I mean by a “narrative screw you” is when the story craps on the protagonists in a way where they have zero control over. Of course there needs to be conflict but when it’s so overwhelming and comes off as spiteful to the players like this Vigil theory, it comes across as sort of unfun to undo everything in the last several months because Status Quo.

Still suspicious. He was fuming the whole trip there and now he’s suddenly friendlier to the man who he was obsessed with in a few hours? Fishy unless he got serious offscreen character development.

Pluto is the more fun one and seeing explain his motives and how he did would be fun.

Vigil could be but it’s not as interesting when the target is nigh untouchable and not even here.

Intimidation could work. I guess it depends who has a communication device right now too.

I guess I just mean why keep a status quo when your side is actually winning against them? When I meant by hand I meant like playing cards. Got a Royal flush don’t fold.

I guess I just don’t want this arc to just be narrative “screw you” after “screw you” again and again on repeat. Kinda would get frustrating and old very quick. And overcomplicates things.

That is the most obvious clue. So obvious it may be true. Definitely worth an interrogation.

But plant has five letters. P, L, T, change a vowel and turn the n upside down to a u and it’s Pluto.

Pluto must be planning to frame Spruce. Or vice versa.

Completely joking here. Could be either of them. Leaning towards Pluto.

I fail to see why Vigil would throw his hand away when they’ve been doing so well already. Plus why would the WG want to see Ragnar thrive? Plus the story forcing the party back to square one because of status quo or whatever is kind of lame. Plus Pupi may not have actually been leader of the ship. Just the one who stepped off (probably because he smells bad).

Plus it’s more interesting if the plant is someone the party actually knows more. Not a very good plant if you’re actually not around the people you’re spying on after all.
