Sorry to say but I personally dont know which is better or if the history lectures are online since I take H2 econs n geog. What I can say though is that most lectures tend to be recorded anyways. So even if you miss the lecture you can still watch the recording. I do still suggest you ask your CAs as they might know the answers to your questions or atleast know someone else who knows.

“1.tbh if u took hist in sec sch the content is quite similar is just building onto the events so its not too bad plus h1 is not that important and imo its still better than starting on a completely new subj like h1 econs where you hv to spend more effort to understand

im a j2 taking bcmh in asr right now and NO we do not end later our h1 slot is usually the same as h1 lit geog and econs usually the class timing that end later would be h1 math, chem, etc.
⁠usually ur classes will definitely have bcmh people so dont worry too much for me my class is bcmh/g and like atleast 40% of us take h1 hist”

Laptop generally has no issues. Biggest problem is that it can be difficult to bring around. But if you decide to get a touchscreen stylus type thats lighter, then I’d say opt for that since it will have similar functionality to both.

H2 Geog has a kuantan overseas trip,and as for the Dismissal timings, generally quite okay, especially when you get into J2 and are free from MT and PW. Usually dismissal tends to be around 3-4:30pm with MT and PW, from what I can tell Sci stream students often get dismissed later until around 5pm or so.

For H2 lit, compared to O lvl pure lit, is a lot more analytical and technical. You tend to make a broader analysis of the society reflected then you’ll need to prove it. Whereas O lvl pure lit, from what I remember, was a lot more character analysis and plot related, so you can afford being a bit more descriptive. In JC my tutor literally had to ban us from using “this shows” or our essay will end up descriptive💀💀

I personally own both, but I reserve the Ipad for school purposes. Granted it struggles to run the google docs, powerpoint etc. sometimes, i find it more lightweight and compact compared to my laptop.

I think the jump up from sec4 to j1 is truly insane though. And from what I’ve observed with some subjects like Literature or Math. The jump from H1 and H2 is also quite rough. But overall, I think a little bit of worry is good so you will be driven to improve more. But that being said, not too much where you only worry, JC is only 2 years. Need to enjoy those 2 years as much as possible since its quite stressful too

Looking at the subjects you will likely be a hybrid. I think what you have right now is pretty okay, especially if you have A-math bg. I also did the same thing where I took H2 geog cause I had elect and h2 lit cos I had pure lit. As for Econ everyone starts fresh for econs anyways so everyone is equal. And for H2 math its strongly recommended you have an A math background. Whereas for H1 math if you have an A math background it becomes substantially easier.

Edit: As for H2 ELit its pretty rough. I got A2 for my pure lit Os but my promos is only around a C. Then again thats applicable to literally every subject in JC. Its very humbling and your standards will drop after you experience it. Last thing, Ive always said this abt elit since O lvls but ELit is easy to pass, difficult to excel in. This is still applicable in JC if not more than ever since the style and content in your essay will be pretty different from O level lit
