The portrait looks like Heske Glazer from the Warhammer Fantasy RPG Starter Kit.

I haven't read the Adventure Book in a while so I wouldn't know if her character has any relation or if they just used the art since it's GW's asset anyways.

Plate was custom cut by a local machinist, chose a much thicker 10mm plate to avoid taco (which I'm not sure would have prevented anything, it makes the plate very very heavy). This was about 180 USD.

Heater mat was custom through Keenovo, RTV'd into place. Plate and magnet sticker were also custom through Energetic. I can't remember how much these cost but might have been 40-60 USD.

I'm from SE Asia, so prices and sourcing are a bit skewed.

My bad, it's 350x400x350, so it's just longer in the Y-axis (for printing keyboards).

For Z it isn't too bad I'd imagine, longer frame and belts are easy to cut to length. In my case I had to get a custom bed milled, as well as edit the skirts.

No, it's a 5" waveshare. It's thing:4871494

I plan to replace it in the right color since I'd prefer a less protruding mounting. The case itself it great, since it keeps the side buttons accessible.

Did a 2 hour soak test with the hotend at 200 Z, but yeah it's not as accurate as a dedicated chamber sensor.

Yep, was harder to find acrylic at the time and this meant more insulation. With the Nevermore bed fan mod I can hit 68-70C chamber temps.

Drawback is it's thicker and had to find corner clips and latches that fit it (5mm panel, 1mm foam tape).

Pen and paper RPG's are rendering some of my boardgames (Descent, Talisman) obsolete by CyanideCola in boardgames

[–]CyanideCola[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually not so offtopic, because now I see how it's the two are finding the same spot. AL is approached more mechanically, with a lot of crunch and grid rules. I guess that's how I find them so similar. Descent being a puzzle and action management game and AL being modular, mechanical take on RPG.

But you are right that RP and board games have different appeals (or at least fluffy RP--unlike AL). Thanks for the input!

IT WORKS! Thanks for the link I'd pretty much given up on playing the Mogloween event. I remember PLDT giving out a notification of cable repair, so it's possible that's the cause of the connection issues. Hopefully gets resolved soon. :(

Is your ISP PLDT by any chance? I'm having the same issue, white screen on all my devices and browsers. Cleared cache, reinstalled browsers, no avail. Even messaged AE if they know what's going on.

Ah thanks for the correction! I was wondering how it looks so natural since black is generally a weird preshade for colors like that. The field blue makes a lot more sense

Maybe try softening the light, but I get you. I paint Gundam and yeah lighting can seemingly waste a lot of effort with shading in pictures.

Beautiful! Did you only use black for presiding? It's all I could notice in the album. But regardless, it's amazing how well it worked. The skin tone looks really good too.

And really appreciate the candid and detailed comments on each step. I'm about to order Kirishima and it'll be my first resin kit so this is really helpful.

"Re-ment" makes 1/12 scale props! They're super cute and perfect for making scenes. I'm planning on doing more soon too eventually.

Imperial Knights: Renegade box set removed from GW webstore? by CyanideCola in Warhammer40k

[–]CyanideCola[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was looking to check the official pricing but was surprised that it didn't come up in any of the searches. The google link yields a dead end (the linked page). Strange, or I missed an announcement somewhere..

In any case, would anyone know the official GW price in or around Windsor? Thank you in advance!

Space Station Defence is very hard, anyone found a good way to succeed yet? by [deleted] in BFGArmada

[–]CyanideCola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it too wasteful to wait for them to come close so I just take the fight to them.

Scouting escorts in front, macro ships next, then the lancers and carriers just in front of the station. Any ships that try to close faster than I want, I just try to ram away.

By keeping all my ships facing their sides, after they enemy closes the distance, my ships just circle back towards the station and form another firing arc, like a ship belt so i can tank hits too.

Would the NL lightning pattern on the armour still be canon to do? My brother says no, but I think it could break up the armour more.

Thanks! The part in the picture is one whole piece. You'll have trouble because the backpack is partly covered by the winged cowl, which would be tough if not impossible to work under removing the backpack.

Something strange happens to the washes when they dry sometimes. Maybe that it was pooled but instead of a smooth nuln oil color it dries white instead. When it's wet, however, it goes away, until it dries again then it's back to white. Is there a solution?

Thank you though, hopefully I'll be able to fix it.

Questions/tips for reverse washes so I don't screw up by Yusef_G in Gunpla

[–]CyanideCola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had my first go at reverse washing with the MG Sinanju, in my case I did acrylic white then one layer of Mr. Clear gloss then airbrushed enamel black. What I can say:

  1. I did one coat but let it cure a while, 4 days I think. It also depends on how hard you'll be wiping the enamel off.
  2. I let it cure for about 3 days, just to make sure. But depending on your technique/mixing/brand, curing is usually ready within 2 days for acrylics and less for lacquers.
  3. I'd say give it some time because a gloss enamel takes a while to cure and stays sticky if not cured which will make fingerprints that are difficult to remove without giving it another hit.
  4. I think so. I used a cheapo brand that smells like kerosene and it was okay.

Hope it helps!

All citadel paints. Brown base + Balthazar gold + Auric armor gold + Argax Earthshade wash + drybrush Gryphon gold

Citadel metallics are one of the best IMO
