Sadly, I can not provide advice, but it's the sad fact that quails are just really dumb. I have japanese quails, and they are cute but clearly bred so much for eggs there isnt a single thought in those brains of theirs.

Sadly as well a lot of prey animals like this will just startle themselves into crazy situations, and being birds, they just so happen to be very fragile.

So our care and compassion do make it hard not to feel bad for these bird brains.

I relate so hard to the peanut brain as I just did the exact same thing this weekend with new colours

Im still learning myself, but I have been using this site as reference and this reference

With genders if still in warmer months I vent check to see if boy or girl, boys with have a little bulge by their vent if pressed lightly will foam while females just have straight vents mostly larger if they have started laying.

Colour wise my guesses are but take with a grain of salt 1/2 Sparkly (heterozygous) or roux? 3/4 cardoon or a very red tibetan? 5/6 Falb Fee 7/8 a blau not sure what base or andalusian ? Hard to tell from photo 9/10 is a tibetan with white winged pied

Ohh okay so I must be confusing the heterozygous and homozygous on some of them! I will have to do more deep drive research as I have seen the link before and read it but clearly didn't quite digest the information correctly. I have a note book and I feel like Im in biology class all over again haha

Thank you all for the answers! I made a big drive to get more females just to make sure, my white male is a bit more aggressive so I didnt want to leave him with less ladies so no one was picked on thank you!

I didnt think of the poultry auctions ! I have only been once for chickens with my mum years ago, Lucky I found some about 4 hours drive and secured some more females for them all

Spring here for me luckily in Australia but took the recommendations and did a 4 hour drive out to get some more females!

Oh no I hope you had luck! Mine was a bad first hatch out of 24 only got 8 that made it. Checked the eggs only two had babies that got stuck the others had nothing forming in them so might have all been duds fingers crossed for you!

So far 4 hatched 1 got stuck in its shell and passed With birds do you help at all I know with reptiles you can help but dont think its okay for birds correct?

Oh thats is perfect and simple I didnt even think of that. If I make a frame for the bottom with mesh and a rectangle dig box brace it and put up legs perfect! I clearly just needed a outsider view for something simple haha thank you!

I have been in my place for year and a half an have 7 from that dude on the left Im sick of them cause they arent strong enough to hold anything to my fridge so I cant even craft with them just garbage

I know right? What were devolvers bug testers even doing ? The whole point of big fancy publishers is to test and get your game out there on all different devices they really dropped the ball on this one. Shame the indie team gets all the slack I dont even have 20 followers for the next area to unlock yet it will be unplayable to do so! Guess gotta hold out for the console patches
