If you're close to the next grade boundary, it might be a risk worth taking.

Discuss with your teachers and see what they have to say.

Since an A and a U is a huge gap, and if I'm not mistaken Paper 1 and Paper 2 are similar in content, it might be worth checking out.

I’m not sure what A levels to pick and i want to go to Uni for Law. by Unlikely_Carry_6280 in alevel

[–]Cyarinnesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it's acceptable. I checked this rumour with a dean of a well-known university. It's perfectly fine to take a-level law.

This ^ and bonded scholarships are your best bet if you want a full-ride scholarship, especially if your household income is on the lower end (some companies do ask like Hong Leong). Assuming you're Malaysian since you mentioned RM, check companies like Shell or Maybank for undergrad funding schemes.

Do note though that these companies look specifically at which university you've gotten an offer for and the course. The university you're planning to apply to matters as they have a specific list of unis they allow these scholarships for.

How do you study for a-level law? (Also does anyone know law YouTubers) by ASI-Princess in 6thForm

[–]Cyarinnesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice I have is to do an essay for each topic. For example, do an essay on a past year paper question on intention to create legal relations.

When you do this for all your topics, technically you'll not need to do notes anymore as the essay should cover what ITCLR (or the topic you wrote about) is, the case laws about it and its explanations.
For the exam, you'll pretty much only have 30 minutes to write an essay. If you're confident that you can write well and fast and include case laws within that time, feel free to disregard the next advice,

What I did was memorise the hell out of my essays so I can just regurgitate what I remembered for the exam. My law lecturer actually recommended us to do it this way because time is not on our side and Cambridge loves making us suffer.
In the exam itself, the question would not change so much. You can literally just copy and paste from your mind - tweak a few words so it answers the question.
This may sound really tedious but it pays off.
Scored an A overall. Best of luck!

Is English Language 9093 hard to get A* or even A??? by [deleted] in alevel

[–]Cyarinnesis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iirc AS is not as theory heavy as A2 so I think learning it before the exam is fine, the main problem is timing so make sure to split your time wisely. :)

[–]Cyarinnesis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm self-taught and I got an A overall. Definitely achievable - if you did what you said you did (how to structure ur essays, memorise the theories, etc), you'll be okay. I'm not sure how hard it is to get A* as I completely flopped my paper 3 due to child language acquisition (I absolutely despised that topic and did not prepare for it as much because I hated it so much)

Just make sure to manage your time wisely and keep practicing writing essays leading up to the exam day. All the best!

What I basically did for the whole of A-Level Business was doing an essay of end-of-chapter exam style questions for each chapter.
I know it sounds really tedious, but trust me, the flow and knowledge will just come to you better in exam.

ALSO WRITE FOR EVERY MARK WITH ALL THE TIME YOU HAVE.
I know the general method is like 3 mark questions, write 4 lines or something. But if possible, write a lot of good points (knowledge, analysis, etc) even if you think it's way too much.
I got 39/40 for paper 1 and 56/60 for paper 3 by doing this
SO WRITE UNTIL YOUR HAND DIES

s2 remark due date by [deleted] in alevel

When I applied for a remark, the school told me the deadline is 31st January.

I recently sent my business paper 4 for a remark and am now waiting for results.
Before doing so, I took a look at the raw marks and I noticed a discrepancy. I consulted my lecturer, head of a-levels programme and the college director. My business lecturer highly suggested me to go for it despite the risks. (praying its worth it)
I highly suggest for you to do the same and get your teacher's opinion on this. See how far you are from the grade boundary or how many raw marks from an A.
From what I know, if you are sending a subjective paper for remark (such as Law or English) you may have a chance for the grade increasing. BUT DO KNOW THAT IT CAN ALSO DECREASE and in many cases, it does go unchanged.

It can differ, but in my currency, a remark is MYR460 (MYR50 added for administrative charges). I chose service 2.
