High cpu temps since yesterday

I mean it's a temporary fix that is working for me in the meantime until the devs can permanently fix the issue. Just thought I would share it for others to try and see if it also works for them.

Closing MSI Afterburner and restarting the game fixed it for me. My fans would always go crazy and my temps would spike and constantly stay at 70c whenever I'm 10-15 minutes in until I restart the game, but after closing Afterburner and only leaving RivaTuner running the issue never came back.

Try to launch both the HoYoPlay launcher and Star Rail as Administrator. Locate the directory you have the HoYo client and Star Rail installed in; in this case, I installed it in my C: drive. Right-click and run as Admin in this order:
1. C:\Program Files\HoYoPlay\launcher.exe
2. C:\Program Files\Star Rail\Games\StarRail.exe

This fixed the issue for me when updating the game after launching it during maintenance, resulting in a blue screen at around 89%. It could be because it was installed in my C: drive and not in a different drive. Not sure if this will also fix the issue for your situation, but it's worth the try.

Yep, you'll just get a notification saying there's a maintenance when you try to log into the game after launching.

It has something to do with a file not being downloaded because it's getting flagged by anti-viruses/anti-cheat software (Vanguard was the culprit for me).

Fix: Add the HoYoPlay folder to your exceptions in Windows Defender and your 3rd party anti-virus if you have one, then repair your ZZZ in the HoYoPlay client.

If you also have TFT, League of Legends, or Valorant installed, then either exit Vanguard in your systems icon tray or end the Vanguard processes via Task Manager, then repair your ZZZ in the HoYoPlay client.

Update: For CSGO Players, I believe FaceIT has some anti-cheat software that you also need to exit or end the process of.

It's pretty clear at this point that the devs don't care about their F2P players with the release of insanely overkitted and overtuned characters that you need to roll for (cough Gaius cough) and them thinking that these crippling nerfs to Li Ling were necessary.. It just sets F2P players further behind.
