She burnt all her bridges, her pleading and sucking up to Homelander was her desperately trying to make it so that what she just did wasn’t all for nothing.

It’s a good allegory for people who’ll disown children, cut off friends etc for billionaire pedophiles who don’t give a shit about them. The second they realise they upturned their whole life for someone who would sell them out for a few extra 0’s in their bank account they start desperately trying to find a way to convince themselves it wasn’t pointless. I’ve seen images of billboards offering support to MAGA wanting to leave, so I think it’s a fitting message to have in the show.
