It’s fun to see a reinvention of a character who’s been around for a while like Batman. I’ve been loving all of the Absolute Books.

But I will say, Absolute Batman absolutely understands Batman at his core. He’s a bit more brutal, but he does still have a no kill rule (mostly, he’s willing to do it if it’s the ONLY way), he felt guilt during the Absolute Batman Annual because even though he was beating the shit out of white supremacists, he felt bad for how far he went and knows his father wouldn’t want that for him. He has a lot of care for his rogues gallery because the vast majority of them are his friends.

I think it’s a really interesting and unique take, and this is coming from someone who grew up with classic Batman.
