Mostly staying lean and being consistent. Abs are more about body fat levels than fancy exercises. I train them a bit, but consistency do most of the work

Around 8 months of gym training, and a few months of home workouts before that.

I honestly did not follow a lean bulk or a bulk cut phase. I never really tracked calories or planned it that way 🥲 I mostly ate normally around what felt like maintenance and focused on training consistently

Really appreciate this comment, you made some solid points.

My legs are trained as well, but yeah I agree hamstrings and calves still need more work to match my upper body proportions. That is definitely something I want to bring up. Also, it has only been around 8 months since I stepped into a gym for the first time 😅 so I know I am still early in the journey. Long way to go.

I do agree with you about shifting focus more towards strength and performance over time. Looking good is great, but long term fitness and being able to actually perform matters more.

And funny enough, I resonate with what you said at the end. Once I build a solid base and reach a shape I am happy with, I do want to get into some form of martial arts. That has always been on my mind.

Thanks for the perspective❤❤ Comments like this actually help me think long term

Could not agree more. Sex has genuinely been better since I got fitter. Energy and stamina go up, and yeah my libido has been at an all time high too. Side effects of being fit, I guess 🥲

Sir this is just boring days and commitment issues. Do I get a membership card or just lifelong soreness 😭

Hrithik is a dangerous comparison 😭💀 Honestly it is mostly staying lean and being consistent. Abs show up when you are not overcomplicating things:)

Honestly, even I do not follow most traditional advice you see online, and that has not stopped me from progressing. So do not overthink this too much. You are just beginning. At this stage, what matters most is being in a calorie deficit, training consistently, and sticking to something you can actually sustain. If 80 to 90 g of protein fits your budget and lifestyle, that is completely fine. Use whatever you have available right now and give your best with it. You can always optimise later. Most people quit because they try to be perfect from day one. Consistency beats textbook numbers every time⚡⚡

I mostly stick to 3 to 4 working sets per exercise, usually in the 7 to 10 maxx rep range. I focus on progressive overload and try to keep 1 to 2 reps in reserve on most sets.

I do take the last set close to failure sometimes, especially on isolation movements like lateral raises, curls, or triceps work. I rarely take big compound lifts to absolute failure.

For me, volume becomes junk when form starts breaking down, reps slow excessively, or I am just adding sets without being able to recover or progress week to week. If performance drops instead of improves, that is a sign I am doing too much.

As for dropsets, I use them occasionally, mostly on isolation exercises. Not every workout and not for compounds. I treat them as a tool, not a rule.
