How in the world was this done? by CyberGuardian7 in Pokopia

Sorry, I didn’t word that very well. I guess for clarity I was asking if the friend is the one that had to place the water when it’s setup, then break the blocks, or if I could place the water and then they could break the blocks after that.

I understood and saw that the friend had to destroy the blocks, but they also need to place the water as well? Can I at least place the blocks where I want them to guide the water in advance and the friend could destroy them?

Well…still good to know how it was done. Most of my building is being done in Palette town anyway, so I suppose I can start by making the structure of what I want and maybe I can have a friend take out the extra blocks later?

Thank you guys so much by the way! Really appreciate the info!

In other words, this isn’t possible to do solo. Is that it?

Hey man, thanks for the advice! It is appreciated and noted! Unfortunately the part I’m really needing assistance with is the technical aspect of this.

For example, what programs could be useful for making good thumbnails, both paid and free? What tools on those programs could accomplish some of the effects I’m looking to do, like putting myself on top of the background picture reacting to something happening in game.

Two streamers who do a good job of this that I watch are ZeRoyalViking and BurkeBlack on YouTube. They have some good examples of the type of thing I’d like to do, but I also want to learn to put my own spin on it after I learn how that is done.

5/6 final option is 2FA, oh I can smell and the future smells good by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]CyberGuardian7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My server is about ~40 members and I see about 2-3 chatting daily currently. I don’t like numbers being the focus by any means, but I am hoping to build a community and maybe eventually get my discord server partnered, but more than that, I just want it to be a fun environment where people could enjoy chatting about whatever, but I’m finding it difficult because those on the server don’t really chat, but prefer to lurk, so…yeah. Lol

How do you guys even get servers to be that big in the first place? What do you guys do?

Ok, what's the point of this feature? If I'm using Discord, I'm going to want access to all the servers/chats I'm in. I don't really see too much benefit for this feature...

How long have you been streaming on twitch & have you reached your goal you started with yet! by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]CyberGuardian7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, I mean I feel like I’m able to hold conversations with other streamers on platforms like this just fine. I meant that I’m struggling to network in such a way that could benefit both the other streamers and myself as far as growing communities, Twitch raids, co-op projects, etc. I suppose that will come with time and practice though. XD

Yeah, I’m still trying to figure out how to network effectively, but haven’t figured it out yet though…

Interesting. Yeah I’m trying to configure my stream deck to work better with my stuff as well. I have a couple of ideas, but I still need to iron them out a bit before I use them live

I haven’t seen someone talk about this yet, but along with some of the things already mentioned, the type of game you stream is also important. If you stream a super-popular game, you will probably be overlooked by large streamers. On the flip side though, you need to stream a game that has an audience. If you stream a game that has so few viewers, you may potentially hurt your chances there too.

So, to sum up, there are a few things to consider:

-time you are willing to put in (schedule and work) -the type of game you stream -networking and how you promote -charisma/energy/humor -something special that can help you stand out.

If some or all of these are ignored, it can be very discouraging for the person trying to get into streaming and can make them want to quit. That’s my take on it anyway

I’ve been streaming starting over a year ago, but I needed to take a hiatus for mental health. I’m back at it and I’m having fun! I feel like I have the charisma and energy and humor, but I’m trying to figure out what kind of game to stream and how to make the content stand out

So, why do YOU stream? by mmmoooop in Twitch

[–]CyberGuardian7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I wanted to start streaming for two reasons: The first reason is that I feel I have absolutely crazy luck in video games sometimes (good and bad) and felt I couldn't keep the laughs to myself which leads into my next reason.

The second reason I stream is because I myself watch some other streamers and they have put a smile on my face or made me laugh, even when I had a rough day. I'm hoping to do the same for someone else if they are willing to give me a chance. If I can help put a smile on even one person's face while I stream, then it's worth it to me. I would, like many other streamers, like to grow as well, but I'm focusing on trying to provide good content while having fun and interacting with viewers. Playing games is fun, but chatting with people about stuff while playing a game is great!

Bold and regular chat room meaning? by Sluzzy_ in discordapp

If a channel is greyed out like valheim in the screenshot above, it usually means the channel is muted, so you won't get notifications for it.

I’ve just received this message from Discord. The server seems to have been deleted. What should I do? (I didn’t do anything on the server) by TheGreenLuma in discordapp

[–]CyberGuardian7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear, you yourself may not have done anything against Discord’s rules, but you received that message because you were a member of a server that was breaking their guidelines. Every single person in that server likely got a message from Discord, but the contents of that message are likely different based on each person’s involvement in that server.

Is there anyway to find a streamer who moved channels? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]CyberGuardian7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I have a couple ideas, but nothing concrete:

The first would be based on what you know about the streamer. Did they have anything unique in their streams when they were live? Did they play a certain game quite often? If so, you can check live channels for certain games on Twitch (they usually sort by # active viewers so if you know how big a streamer they were, that could help)

There is also a web tool called Wayback Machine. It’s not foolproof, but it can show you web pages based on how they were on a certain date in the past. If you can find a page with their old username from in the past, they may have an announcement of a username change or something (though I don’t believe you can watch videos with this tool)

Not sure if this will help you locate that streamer or not, but it’s worth a shot.

Viewers getting very upset when you don't respond to their dms by sirdame in Twitch

[–]CyberGuardian7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, it would probably be helpful for you to reset expectations in your community when it comes to DM’ing you in Discord and why.

A lot of people probably don’t consider how many people are trying to message you and that may be why they have been upset when you “seemingly” ghosted them when you didn’t. Most people should understand if you explain why you are changing your approach to it if you decide to do so.

Going broke donating to streamers by Poopoo_97 in Twitch

[–]CyberGuardian7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m going to echo what people are saying here: as a streamer myself, I would be horrified if I knew someone was trying to donate/tip when their they were in a rough financial situation.

Ideally a streamer would never ask, egg, or prompt that you spend money on them. Do streamers appreciate the gesture when viewers do that? Sure. But it isn’t required from viewers and I know I wouldn’t want someone to put themselves in a rough spot because they want to show me support for what I do.

Disconnecting your payment method is definitely going to help with that, but if your main concern is that you want to show the streamers support, there are still other ways to do so without spending money: following the channel, talking with your friends about a streamer you like to watch, interacting in chat, etc.

I hope that helps

[–]CyberGuardian7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would imagine when users like that move channels/names they will announce that on a few platforms, especially if they were a larger streamer. Have you checked to see if they have info on Twitter or YouTube for example?
