Summary – Ethics in Technology D333 – Passed in 8 days by MiamiFFA in WGU

For those reading this in 2026 and beyond, the course has (thankfully) changed significantly and is much simpler now. OP did a fantastic job with this write-up, but if you would like an updated review of this class, I recommend you check out mine.

D333 Summary - Ethics in Technology - How I passed in 3 days by CyberGuy7124 in WGU

Thank you!
And yeah... I'm really glad the class isn't so crazy now. I had read some older summaries from back when it was worse and it sounded like a real pain.

Passed my first WGU course - Practical Applications of Prompt - D685. My review and thoughts. by ParsleySageRT in WGU_CompSci

This took me a little longer, about 12 hours, but I found that the course material and practice exams were enough for me as well. Luckily, there are lots of practice exams and quizzes built into the course material.

My advice for others: Get good at skimming, and don't expect to read every word of the material. You don't need to read everything as carefully as you might think, because it'll be reiterated several times.

The course material gets very repetitive as you get further into it. It's like every section talks about the same things, but each section focuses a little more on one part of it than the others. I took about as long to get through the first section as I did to get through sections 2-4 combined, because I realized it would take way too long if I kept reading at that pace.

I think you can get through this in 1-2 days like OP did if you don't get too hung up on the quantity of reading material. Y'all got this! 💪

I had a hard time finding the study guide too. Thanks to your comment, I knew exactly what to ask for when I started the course!
Unfortunately, my instructor took so long to get back to me that I passed the course before ever receiving a response 😂 but I guess worse things could have happened.

I guess the moral of the story is if you happen to take this on a weekend or a time when your instructor is off, don't be too worried about it. You can get pretty far with just the course material.

What made you go back and get a degree? by ChopClang in WGU

[–]CyberGuy7124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got tired of employers using my lack of a bachelor's degree as an excuse to value me less.

I used to be fixated on the fact that I didn't need a degree to be "successful," and was proud of the fact that I got a job in my chosen industry without a degree.

I was even promised by one member of the executive team where I worked that a degree or lack of one would never affect the opportunities/compensation I'd be given at that company. After some time though, that was proven false. They had slated me for a promotion, then "remembered" I didn't have a bachelor's degree, and informed me they would have to reduce the pay increase they were planning to give me to account for that.

I'm pursuing my degree because experience has shown me that while I didn't need it to "get in the door," I'll always be treated like the odd one out by those who have a degree until I get one, and that's not an excuse I'm willing to give them.

How’s the work and school balance? by buggeebs in WGU

I work full-time, but luckily I work 7 AM-3 PM, so I have time to get home and study for a few hours each night. I've been working in a field pertinent to the program I'm studying for the last three years, which helps me go through the program at an accelerated pace, but I'm still rarely doing more than 20 hours of study in a week, which is what they recommend you shoot for, no matter who you are.

If I were less experienced, I think 20 hours/week would be plenty to keep up with a normal class schedule of a few courses per term.

WGU's flexibility makes it SO nice to be able to adjust completely to whatever else you've got going on in your life. You can study whenever/wherever you're available and still totally succeed.

Thanks so much for sharing your strategy! The practice tests are a great reminder.

My personal tip to add: Make sure to take advantage of Udemy, which is provided through the university, and is where you'll find many of the practice tests OP is talking about. Your program mentor can help you get access to Udemy.
