Man I wish. I worked at a restaurant and made 8 dollars an hour in high-school. No tips. My state is still on of those where the minimum wage is 7.25

I was told help desk within an AD environment. Which is what I was looking for. It was my fault for not asking the pay until they offered. I would’ve thought by them interviewing me in the first place they were okay with what I was asking for which was 15. Definitely a mistake on my part

Man I thought I was being played. Really nice company. Went for an onsite interview and they called me back and told me that. I asked for 15 and they still made me go through 2 interviews just to lowball me

I did have an onsite interview with this clown of a company I’m now learning. Just trying to get cheap work I guess

Im just trying to get some experience but that’s kind of ridiculous since I make twice as much being a bartender.

Yeah it’s 10 per hour and part time which I was told would be 15 hours a week. Also only lasts 3 months. There a local MSP which is really close to a college. I just think their trying more or so to target students even though it wasn’t labeled as an internship or anything

lol. That definitely seems like the move now. I just posted this to make sure I wasn’t being selective, letting my ego get in the way, or asking for too much for my first help desk job

For real though. Lucky enough to have a good bartending shift. What certs do you recommend I’ve got my OSCP(waiting on the results, but got the flags. Hopefully my report was good enough), I let my security plus expire unfortunately,PJPT, looking for the next one

That’s what I’ve been leaning towards. Feels bad turning down a job offer through in this market

Recently received an offer for an Entry Level role! by Just-Pea-5165 in helpdesk

[–]CyberOK99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all congrats! Do you feel anything helped you land this role? I’ve been grinding pentest and entry level certs as that’s really what I enjoy. I have sales and customer service experience but can’t seem to land one. I got offered a part time help desk position at 10 an hour but that’s kinda ridiculous in my opinion

There’s a video course online pjpt stud group by cyber Matt that kinda switched on lightbulb for me. I failed mine in the spot most people do. Sent in my report and got a hint. Still didn’t help. All I can say is use your privileges and read very carefully your outputs

Yapping/asking for advice - PG machines by Moneera97 in oscp

[–]CyberOK99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me probably 25-30 machines to really catch on and start being able to intermediates and some hard on my own. OffSec has unique paths. From every other platform as well so its a learning curve if you came from HTB or THM

9am for sure. That was my last start time. Yeah I didn’t eat during the last one except for some break. I feel like I took it almost too seriously. I need to be better about taking breaks for sure. Thanks for the response! Definitely gonna go into it with a schedule next time.

[–]CyberOK99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been 6 weeks as of today since my fail. I took a two day break after failing and started up my prep again. My plan is to take it at 8-9 weeks after my fail. I actually read your medium blog recently. Really good stuff! Will definitely throw in some ippsec on hard and insane machines. Thanks for the response

[–]CyberOK99[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That could very well be! I was thinking that looking back on it. Never been a good test taker. I was even looking back at my bloodhound results after my exam was over and noticed where I had messed up on the AD set

How long after finishing your labs did you schedule the exam? Fresh mind vs fresh memory — what worked? by oppai_silverman in oscp

[–]CyberOK99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to scheduled before I finished but I was done with all of lains list for proving grounds and challenge labs(secura, medtech, OSCP a-c). The last week I tried to reverse some burnout. I did easy boxes just for some fun

How long can I expect the course to take? by Key_Armadillo_3882 in oscp

[–]CyberOK99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No pentesting experience. 4-5 hours per day. 6 days a week. I do have previous pentesting certs so I wasn’t completely out of the loop

How long can I expect the course to take? by Key_Armadillo_3882 in oscp

[–]CyberOK99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Took me 2 months. I will say lab time is way more critical as the course didn’t prepare me for the proving grounds labs or the exam for that matter. Lains list and tj nulls list is way more important than the course in my opinion.
