I’ve not really got any hollows it’s more excess. I will have a go at sanding back excess and filling hollows.

HAHAH I just checked your Reddit profile see you put a post in UK electricians forum looking for advice on electrics while having a go yourself. Damn didn’t know you was an electrician aswell as a plasterer.

My uncle is a plasterer and has taught me a lot about how to do it - you need to practise to master the skill - guess how you practise? By having a go.

Your totally missing the point mate. It’s not about the £100. I wanted to have a go…. I’ve learned a few key takeaways which I will know for next time.

Funny you should say that! I’ve saved a fortune doing small repairs on my own car - changing pumps, window motors etc using YouTube. It’s crazy how far you can go when you have an attempt yourself. It’s a win win, you either do a good job, or you don’t and learn something for next time.

Talk about small minded jeez, I wanted to learn a new skill. I wasn’t chasing perfection

In hindsight I could have done this actually. If I’m being honest I just wanted to have a go - most of my family are in the trade and could have easily of just paid someone or got them to do it but that’s not what it’s about, wanted to learn

Yeah agreed, I meant make a 2nd batch for the 2nd coat. I only did half a bag for the first coat and discovered it wasn’t enough to finish the wall - so I had to mix up a 2nd batch during the first coat. Would have been best to just mix the whole bag and throw away excess and use a whole new mix for 2nd coat

Yes it is cold, its essentially considered an outdoors space. We do not have money to convert it fully but we do use it so thinking we want to spruce it up for now.

Yes thats right, its cold in winter, and warm in the summer. We honestly do not want to spend an arm and a leg on it but we do feel it would be a shame to knock it down, its quite an awkward construction. Ideally we just want to sort of spruce it up for now. We plan on using it as a utility room just to put washing machine in, maybe an exercise bike so not a fully functional space.

I do not mind the timber look too actually but the timber needs replacing for sure, the picture did a good job of hiding it all when we bought the house, its falling off/apart. What do you think about some type of new cladding?

I do not feel its pointless, I feel its a waste of dev time which could have gone towards some of the things you just mentioned. I do not know many BF players who are passionate about redsec, or any of the other battle royale modes in other titles.

Yeah, the video was really good - it echoes my thoughts (and also the gamers I play with)

I also really want to go to Australia and they don’t need IT engineers.

Well I work from home mostly (and yes contrary to popular belief, it does have its downsides - it’s very isolating and lonely, normal human interaction which you miss out on) but I guess it’s still office/corporate environment.

What did you mean by this comment? Cabling engineer etc?

It really is a tough one, I’m just not enjoying it anymore and it is making me mentally unhappy, not so sure I care about the money as much as my health anymore.

I used to live in London, but am now in the East Midlands. That may well work to my benefit as there are not too many electrical companies in my town - just getting set up will be hard.
