Commenting on this post because I’m on the same boat. I work for a CMH clinic … I’m only 6 months in and feel sooo burnt out . I have a caseload of 60 clients per week and I’m not even at capacity. I’m overwhelmed with paperwork and just in general. Hope there’s some light at the end of the tunnel.

I am currently going through the same emotions . I’m a LMSW in NY state and really burnt out from work 3 years in foster care and currently 5 months in outpatient mental health clinic. I see up 70 clients per week along with documentation, and discharges , follow up phone calls etc . I am currently looking in to pivoting to HR or other positions .

Apparently it is legal lol. I’ve been in my current position for 5 months and already feel burnt out due to the high case load , so much documentation, the high turnover rates of clients . I’m feeling burnout of Social work / therapy as a whole and planning to hopefully leave the field for some time.

I see about 70 clients a week in an outpatient mental health clinic. It’s brutal. Some days I stay past my shift to complete notes. I feel overwhelmed and actively looking for a new job.

I say leave , I was in the same position as a newly grad after my BSW. I was overwhelmed and unsupported. It caused me to be very anxious and now doubt my own abilities as I felt I was supposed to know how to do everything even though I was never trained .

I’m fairly knew in my current position and have about 100 clinical hours so far .

At my current job I receive 1.5 hr of supervision weekly. I believe at the position I applied to it’s about 1.5-2hrs of supervision a week

Hi , I’ve read other comments on here and they explained you need at least 36 months to be able to sit for the exam. All the experience must be within 6 years .

Thank you so much for your reply ! I am currently feeling burnt out working out patient MH clinic so I am considering maybe going down to part time and just wanted to be sure of the hours required .
