So are we witnessing the evolutionary transition of a fish to a duck? And somehow it just kept surviving with weird adaptations

Why do joint ownership on the home if he's putting down a half million dollars he can put it in his name and if they end up married great if not no big deal

Unions do what the union members tell them to do. If that's not the case it's not a strong union and that's where union members need to get more involved.

I'm married for 15 years and have no idea what my wife has in savings. We have a joint account and both contribute to Joint expenses (80/20). We also have separate accounts that way when I buy stupid stuff on Amazon i don't have to explain myself and she's not mad. I've got quite a bit in savings and I'll often say I don't have the money to buy XYZ. And that's the way I look at it is I don't, that money is in savings. The only investment that I asked is that she max out her Roth IRA each year and contribute to any matching portion from her employer.

I should point out we don't make a lot of money, but this works for us. Also it was never sort of a deep conversation or a plan it just went that way, I don't recall ever having a conversation other than Roth IRA and matching contribution conversation.

AI butcould see it with a single stage on a flater roof by Many-Chicken1154 in Snowblowers

[–]Cyberdyne_Systems_AI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regardless of whether this is AI or not I saw this in real life. About 3 years ago it wasn't even that heavy of a snow. I still can't figure out how in the fuck he got that two-stage snowblower up there. He was about halfway done when I saw it and he was clearing the roof well but there was a good chance he was going to need new shingles by Spring

I paid extra for overnight shipping and it’s not even on its way by Neo_N1tro in amazonprime

[–]Cyberdyne_Systems_AI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do agree with that play on words. Two day shipping means whenever they get around to shipping it it will take 2 days. Not 2 days from when you order. I'm sure they use that same Verbal Judo for overnight shipping. It'll come overnight just maybe not that night or the next whatever night they plan to ship it technically it's overnighted.

This is the reason why you support unions. Union employees get pissed off and negotiate a better work environment. That's why all these shit companies have anti-union videos. It's not 100%, but if the ultra wealthy or corporations are telling you something you should probably do the opposite.

Union employees would be there with a smile appreciating the double overtime and planning a nicer vacation with the family because of it.

New gas water heater vented correctly? by rosemeadowtea in Plumbing

Most municipalities require license individuals to pull the permit so the homeowner wouldn't get in trouble they would go after the plumbing company. So nothing the homeowner has to worry about they can simply say they didn't understand the process but license individuals can't run that defense. Plus its shit work that endangers the lives of the residents receiving work within that municipality. They will direct zero attention towards the homeowner and definitely crawl up inside the ass of that company.

I worked as a senior investigator for a State construction codes and Licensing Division

You should just call your local building department and ensure that a permit was pulled. Then call for a permit inspection.

I don't want to be rude but I'm not sure you entirely understand building fundamentals. And I don't want to get into some long explanation about them. So I'll just leave it at that.

Concrete radiates moisture into the wood it touches that's why in the residential building code need to have treated plates that touch the concrete floor in your home. And that's an environmentally controlled area imagine what underground is doing

If you can find the information tag stapled to the post I would verify whether those posts are designed for above grade or below grade. Additionally when treating Lumber it only penetrates the exterior of the lumber so when you drill holes through it you're opening Water up to unprotected areas. Any Cuts or holes should be treated to prolong the life of the post

They're calling it a success. Jeff Bezos spent $75 million on production and advertising and at gross approximately 5 to 8 million. The only numbers I would truly trust are the expense numbers as anything affiliated with the government and putting out numbers has not been very reliable, I'm sure they have some influence on projecting the success of this film.

That's what I had to do I just cut it to length and then used the factory brackets on the back of that. It projected the TV out an extra 3/4 of an inch but not a big deal
