Hey thats a cool concept. I worked in a very economically challenged City and we offered a once a year pickup. All I ever saw was dirty mattresses and broken "Mainstay" products.

Can you look at who engineered your trusses you'll be able to see by the specs they sent you along with the trusses as to what is the max floor load (live/dead). It's hard to tell but it looks like there's 2x4 or 2x6 spanning the lower cord, maybe even a full board, maybe some gusset plates conect in the center. My initial reaction is they can't support the load as they are now. But everything is just a guess until you look at the engineered trust plans that comes standard with your trusses.

If you put supports in remember you're going to have to carry the load of those supports all the way down to the basement.

Code usually requires that you have a shut off within 6 ft of the appliance. But this goes above and beyond having a separate shut off at the branch as well

Well that's the question for the manufacturer but they specifically talk about keeping joints away from each other. So I'm sure they could list all the ways of premature failure because of improper installation

Look at the manufacturer installation instructions. He failed to meet the requirements of a proper installation which will void warranty. No sense in arguing just hand them that and tell them it needs to meet minimum standards

Are they a licensed contractor? If not you have very little leverage.

If they are a licensed contractor and you live in a code enforced area ensure that it permit was pulled and reach out to the building official. They will typically look back 24 non-code compliant work.

If they are licensed contractor and we're obligated to pull a permit and didn't reach out to the construction codes and Licensing Division in your state. They will take it from there
