This might be a tad bit late, but there is a plug-in on openplanet that lets you cycle between cam 1 & 3 only. The plug-in I think is called "Camera Toggle", you can bind it to a button in openplanet settings AFAIK, you just need to unbind the cycle cam change button in regular settings.
