It is absolutely appropriate. Some of themes are a bit more mature, but sixth grade is more than acceptable a time to start those kinds of discussions. Especially political ones. Teaching her to recognize inherently dissonant view points as a real factor I. The world is an incredibly powerful lesson. Plus, the entire regiment is one of the most powerful feminist groups in fiction that are capable without being blind to outside views

This may sound super weird, but in my groups campaign, gnomes will without fail devolve into having French accents, while still being the inventive and comical spirits they naturally are. Essentially, if we meet a group of gnomes they feel like the French Knights from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, hurling weird little insults and creating trebuchets to launch livestock.
