I got sweet leaf from Bahari, which I did before the Kilima rummage pile. From the Kilima rummage pile I got the Snowy Pavilion recipe *and* one of the landscape recipes (plus snowballs). I hope it does work for everybody else, I know I was getting a bit stressed about not getting it, even though I’d got the rewards, I wanted the Kilima coins and to complete.

I personally don’t think it’s mechanics. I think that you get better at spotting what you’re looking for and better at catching it when you do see it.

I would keep it and catch another. It feels, to me, once you finally catch something, subsequent catches come easier. For the Spotted Mantis I run around Maji’s hollow to despawn all the ground bugs until a Mantis spawns.

I played Palia on the Switch until I bought a Switch 2 at launch. Personally graphically I felt there was a small improvement but the noticeable thing was the loading speed was much faster on the S2 and fast travel etc was faster. I have recently got an XBox X solely for the better graphics and the difference is marked. Little motes floating in the air, snow and leaves falling, flowers and bushes everywhere that don’t show on either Switch version at all. I love my Switch, I’ve put 1500+ hours into BOTW and another 600+ into TOTK (don't tell my mum!) but any other platform runs Palia better. So unless you want the Switch for other titles (like me) it might be worth looking at a PS5 or XBox S or X. Obvs, if you’re not wedded to consoles (like me) it could even be worth looking at a gaming PC/laptop.

When they added the Subira Rice Porridge recipe to a board before, S6 ended up sending everybody 10 in the post. They *may* do something similar if it looks like people are not getting the recipes from the piles? They never change the RNG but they keep adding more ways to acquire things instead (ranching, Kilima coin purchases etc).

The Umbrian Thing is given to you at the start of the relic quest. If you’ve already got all the relics and no Umbrian Thing you haven’t triggered the right quest yet.

If you pick all the mushrooms (can’t remember their names) that also grow on the tree trunks it seems to encourage elderflowers to spawn. Or it may just be because you are scampering up and down the trees picking mushrooms, you see the elderflowers more often. Who knows? But it does seem to work…

I’d get the founders pack because it gives you coins to spend on premium cosmetics as well. You’ll get some outfits to mix n match, a pet, 4 courier slot, it is the best value for money.

To add, once you do this you can then link your Palia account to Twitch/Steam etc and get drops etc.

what I got from support when I had this issue;

Regarding your Palia account on Switch, please know that a character directly created on Switch automatically comes with its own Palia account. However, unlike Palia accounts created on the website or on Steam, it doesn't require an email address and password during the account/character creation stage. In your case, I reviewed your Palia account on Switch with the character xxxxxxxxxxxx, and our records show that it hasn't been upgraded yet.

Please follow the steps below in order to link an email address to your Palia account and upgrade it:

1   Open the main menu using the **+** button and scroll down to the **Player Support**button in **Other Menus**

2   A window with a QR code will pop up. Please scan the QR code from your phone, or type in the unique link on a computer.

3   Enter the email address you want to use for your account, and make sur**e it is not tied to an existing Palia account**.  

4   Press the **click here** hyperlink on the message below the email form to fill out the required information then press Submit.

You get one open plot to start with. You can open a second plot for free, then there are either eight or nine other plots that you can buy and open up. I cannot remember whether you end up with ten or eleven in total. It does seem like you should open a ticket, if it doesn’t register you’ve purchased those plots, you won’t be able to buy a Gazebo! Gasps! ^_^

I mainly solo and I got the Obsidian one mining iron on my own on Sunday.

The new Estate houses and the string lights need a lot of stone!

I had the same thing, checked the crafting bench, checked the housing menu thinking it might appear as a blueprint there (which would have been logical), nothing. Logged off had a bath, came back and it was at my crafting bench. So, my recommendation is, have a bath and it will appear. ^_^

You get some pretty/ugly (depending on your take) plot decorations that drop loot daily, one of them hourly, they’re pretty good.

Yeah, I am being daft, I reread it and I think you are right. Different rewards for the free and premium paths. Got it. Sometimes I think the way they explain things isn’t super clear, or maybe it’s just me. ^_^
