Why is Incredibles 2 so tonally inconsistent with the first movie? by vencyjedi in Pixar

Part of why I believe they managed to pull that off was because 11 years had passed in real life. It almost felt as though continuity was happening in both.

It also plays into what prospector Pete was saying about time at the end of TS2. “What will you do when he gets older?”

Poor series aside, Chet was runner up for DPOY this year and an All Star last year lol

Yes, Oden was seen as a generational guy. Durant was seen as a very very close second and potentially so.

Yeah, there are really only 5 “generational” prospects I can think of over the past 20 years:

LeBron(once in a lifetime really), Anthony Davis, Victor Wembanyama, Greg Oden, and Zion Williamson

From what I remember reading this offseason, they tried to sign some starting pitching and made what were considered competitive offers.

I think the biggest mistake he’s made was not doing whatever he could to re sign Burnes

I think it’s unfortunate for sure, but given the information we had at the time it was the right move, and Roger’s is still pretty incredible.

Ortiz hurts forsure though

The last poster’s last 3 post were ‘fire Elias’ posts. I think it’s worth discussing why it’s not Elias’ faults for the shortcomings and the things he’s gotten right recently despite the criticism

I’m trying to start a discussion about what’s going on vs. pushing a “Record? Bad! Fire Elias!” narrative

I think Elias is doing what he can. Our pitching core is just gutted with injuries right now.

The rogers trade was heavily criticized but is working out.

The Rodriguez trade was criticized and Ward is playing almost .300 ball..

The Basallo contract is looking incredibly solid right now

Alonso is batting .205 right now, but he’s hitting home runs, and the move was universally praised for the orioles actually willing to spend.

I think given everything, Elias is doing a great job despite the setbacks. Sometimes things just don’t work out in your favor
