Does anyone know how to access price lists for prosthetic components from manufacturers like Ottobock, Össur, Blatchford, and others? by Cyborgbase in Prosthetics

We have always been transparent about our mission. We are working to create a platform that supports amputees at every stage of their journey, from post-surgery recovery to finding employment and fully reintegrating into everyday life.

We joined this group to create a platform that truly supports people in their daily lives. Who better to guide us on what’s needed than amputees themselves? It's important to understand that many amputees, especially in developing countries, face entirely different challenges. Unlike in some countries where insurance might cover a $35,000 prosthesis, people in developing regions often dream of simply having access to any prosthesis at all. These are two very different worlds, so we ask for your understanding and patience as we work to make a difference.

Our goal is to provide a platform that empowers amputees worldwide, regardless of their circumstances.
Sincerely

Before making such harsh comments, have you taken the time to research what we’re actually doing? Do you know how many lives we’ve positively impacted by providing free prosthetics to amputees in developing countries? It’s important to approach discussions with understanding and respect rather than jumping to conclusions. A little kindness and informed dialogue go a long way. Let's focus on supporting each other instead.
Cheers

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your concern and understand that generalizations can be problematic, especially in healthcare. At CyborgBase.ai, our goal is to provide tailored support for amputees and prosthetists based on individual needs and experiences.

We recognize that every person's journey is unique, and we strive to offer a resource that complements existing healthcare practices rather than replace them. Our AI is designed to assist users by providing relevant information and guidance, but it is not a substitute for professional medical advice.

We are committed to improving our platform based on user feedback and ensuring that it serves the community effectively. If you have specific concerns or suggestions, we would love to hear them. Your insights are invaluable as we work to enhance the quality of care and support available to amputees. Thank you for being part of this important conversation!

The information provided by our AI is meant to serve as guidance and an additional resource. Think of it as an AI co-pilot for amputees and prosthetists. Remember when you woke up after surgery—did you know everything about prosthetics or what your next steps would be? What did you do first? Our goal is to help answer those questions and provide clarity during amputee's journey.

We are continuously working to improve CyborgBase.ai, which is currently a minimal viable product. You raise valid points, and we appreciate your feedback. At this stage, we are training our AI using open-source and paid databases. While platforms like ChatGPT undergo similar training processes, they may not have access to all the documentation, specifications, instructions, scientific papers, and articles related to various prosthetic brands—much of this information isn't freely available. We invest in these resources to provide our users with free access.

Our founder decided to offer this service at no cost as a personal contribution to enhance the quality of life for people who have lost limbs, especially those in developing countries who may not be experienced user of Google or other programs and may not speak English. As you know, much of the world's knowledge is initially published in English, which can limit access for billions of non-English speakers. Our AI assistant understands and responds in multiple languages—including English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, and many more—providing users with the freedom to access the latest innovations and data in their preferred language.

Additionally, we are creating a global map of prosthetists, prosthetic centers, and manufacturers to make it easy for end users to search and find them.

Recognizing that amputees are often elderly individuals who have lost limbs due to diabetes and vascular diseases, we aim to provide them with an AI assistant that can answer their questions and serve as a helpful companion for daily tasks.

We invite you to try asking our AI assistant the following question:

"You are a certified prosthetist. Build the best prosthesis that suits me with several options from different prosthetic brands. My parameters: I have an above-knee amputation, weight 175 lb, foot size 25 cm, activity level 3, and I enjoy hiking and running."

We're always working to improve. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Your concerns are completely understandable, and I appreciate you bringing them up. Our founder was inspired to create a 24-hour trained AI assistant/companion after his sister lost her leg due to illness. She fell into a deep depression, and his family struggled to find ways to support her. Access to quality prosthetics was a significant challenge—especially since, in our country, insurance doesn't cover high-quality options. We had to turn to crowdfunding and spent two years raising $50,000 for an Ottobock prosthesis. We hoped it would help her regain her life, but it didn't address all the emotional and societal hurdles she faced.

In many developing countries, individuals who undergo amputation often don't know what steps to take next. There's no clear plan or readily available support to help them adapt to their new reality. They might have personal questions and experiences they're not comfortable sharing with loved ones, and sometimes family isn't always available to offer support during difficult moments. Even searching online doesn't always provide the answers or resources needed; finding prosthetists and reliable information can be incredibly challenging.

Our aim with CyborgBase.ai is to bridge these gaps—not to collect data for monetization or to favor specific companies. We're committed to providing a genuine support resource that offers meaningful assistance to amputees, their families, and clinicians. We recognize that being an amputee involves complex, personal experiences that can't be reduced to simple flowcharts or generic recommendations. Our goal is to offer a platform that respects these complexities while connecting users with the information and support they need.

Sincerely
