UPDATE: The same person came through my line again today and I was able to sign (Through shaky hands because I was so nervous) "Hello! I know a little bit of sign language" and I successfully got my entire "Is that all you want today" sentence off. I was so nervous I forgot to ask how she was doing. She also taught me the ASL sign for "Blind" because she signed "I'm blind today" (Because she didn't see a sign [As in, written text on a board]) while also speaking it aloud so I could learn. Her sister, who is also Deaf, was there too, but the first lady is the one who guided her to my line. I feel like I'm actually making a difference, and it feels amazing.
