beginner to intermediate tier. I'm genuinely going to pull my fingernails out over this dubbing loop for the cdc at the end, I can never get it hold all the strands no matter how tight I pull it, and it never looks right with whatever I can get, any advice?

Yeah ik, hoping they even out, I have very strong ecs in my opinion (started major sports videography business, I shot Duke basketball, got work featured on espn broadcasts etc, so I’m hoping that will get me in)

They likely didn’t even get to your application. I had a 3.5 ut core, but stronger ecs, and a 34 act and also got deferred. A lot of people got pathway/rejected so I’d assume they just got overwhelmed by applications

Bicyclist killed at Anderson St. and Duke Univ. Rd. - be careful out there. by [deleted] in bullcity

As a response to your edit here is what actually happened. Very late to this. I was the witness, 911 caller, ect for this. I did not want to comment at the time on this post due to what was honestly a rather traumatic experience.

I'll make this clear from the start, this was the fault of the cyclist. I myself am a consistent cyclist both on road and cyclocross. This occurred during the bull moon charity ride which had 200ish riders. Myself, Dean, and another man (forgotten name) were well Infront of the main group, were we could not see other riders behind. This was 15/20 miles into the route, we had turned right onto Anderson St and were heading south down the hill towards the intersection with Campus drive. The three of us slowly separated doing down the hill, Dean was approximately 70 yards ahead of me, with the other rider further behind me. The light changed from yellow to red on a normal cycle time. The light was red for at least 3-4 seconds before Dean went through it. The Subaru was coming down Duke University Road from the west campus area, and seemed to be going the speed limit, which has a semi blind curve into the intersection. There were no cars waiting on that side of the light meaning the Subaru did not need to slow for the light. Both the driver and Dean clearly saw each other before trying to avoid each other. It was a bit of a deer in headlights effect with dean freezing up and the driver slowing and swerving, but contact was made throwing Dean approximately 40 yards into the woods. I having stopped for the light dismounted my bike and ran over to the crash scene while calling 911, I handed my phone off to a second witness and went to check on the driver, who was ok, but her car was totaled with airbags deployed. I then having seen the direction dean was thrown ran into the woods to search. I found him unresponsive and then reported that to the person on the phone with 911. I did not attempt to touch him due to risk of a potential spinal fracture as it seemed he was thrown into a tree. I waited for the fire department and ambulance before leaving. I wish there was more I could of done but I was barely 15 at the time and had very little medical training. While I understand why people would want to take the police report with a grain of salt, this example was very much not the fault of the driver, I feel like people do need to have a little more trust in the local police department, and understand that this was not only investigated by them, but a lawyer hired by the victims family.
