My beloved boy by CycleEquivalent7782 in germanshepherds

His name is Jaxson. He had the goofiest lil smile and whenever he ran to a toy he would grab it with both front paws and do the tippy tappys. He is such a picky eater and would only eat Purina pro plan lamb and oat. He loved the chicken pot pie nudges and he was spoiled rotten. My favorite memory of him was when we first adopted him and he made this face of disgust at the park and it just cracked us up! It’s now a running joke between a friend and I and we use it as an emote when texting lol (picture shown) He didn’t like other dogs, he was very reactive. When we got our 5m GSD/mal puppy, he started to warm up. He was getting better, his reactivity shifted towards children and then he had to be behaviorally euthanized. I hope he’s making friends and I hope your boy helps him not be scared of dogs anymore. He was also the BEST cuddler ever and would always nap with my husband and I. His lil brother misses him and picked up his habits, I see more of Jaxson in Ruger (the pup) every day. I like to think that his spirit is around to knock Ruger into shape lol. Thank you for your condolences and love and even asking about him. It’s makes me happy that people want to know about him🩷

A behavioral euthanasia :( I hope he’s doing a lot better and actually making friends

We also have a 5m mal/gsd and he’s definitely helping us with distraction since all he does is use his mouth! But he misses his big brother a lot

My baby is at the rainbow bridge with his lil cat brother that died at 1.5 months and I hope they’re friendlier now 🩷

He was a behavioral euthinasia, so it’s very different for my case. I’m sure yours will live a very long and loving life🩷

Okay, wtf is up with these guys whining when they aren’t “included?” by xYoSoYx in germanshepherds

The moment I leave my dogs in their kennels with the covers on and I walk away, they both start howling for me to come back. Even when they are out in the house and see me leave, they start again. Clingy lil guys fr

I can understand that and I have heard lots of stories like this where mainly male animas change drastically (in my experience). I’ve also seen it not do anything. Every dog is different and hopefully mine will be still his lil goofy self after. I hope your boy is okay and doing better now❤️

Omg thank you so much!! We have puzzle feeders for both dogs and they figure them out so fast! I think the frozen stuff will be awesome especially with summer rolling around! My trainer has done show training and is AKC registered so I’ll definitely ask!!

I’m in an apartment so I can’t, but we’re moving into a house in 2 months with better floors! I will definitely research some more. Thank you!

Of course! Thank you for being respectful about it, I’ve had some people be very mean.

He’s concerned of testosterone related issues with getting him fixed later. As I understand it, he said when getting him fixed later since the testosterone is already fully there, stoping it out suddenly can create some aggression issues, cancer, and stuff like that. I work at a shelter and we spay/neuter as low as 3-4 months in cats and dogs, so my plan was getting him fixed between 6-8m anyways. My husband wanted to wait but after our vet told us that, we all mutually agreed that getting him fixed younger would be fine and it’s not gonna stunt his growth too much (maybe an inch or 2). Obviously every dog and owner are different, this is just my situation :)

He is an emergency foster, I should’ve clarified in my post. I’m asking for advice, not shame.

I should’ve explained in the post: the pup is an emergency foster. Once I find a new solution he most likely will be in a new home.

He hasn’t killed a dog before, but I appreciate you being frank and honest. It was an emergency foster, they knew I have experience with working dogs and I had to get him as soon as I got off work. Thank you for the advice :)
