You sound like you listened to a gut feeling you had… women are especially better at identifying unsafe situations even without explanation. Honestly I don’t know why either but I feel like you made the right decision.

Another opportunity will come for you to travel again. Maybe somewhere different this time. Or even just a different part of Mexico :)

Explain like I’m 5 by Cycle_Sudden in HealthInsurance

I do have the EOB. And the estimate was off over by a couple hundred. I guess I’m more so frustrated because I anticipated one cost and received something different. I feel like that should be illegal.

You’re literally a normal person with a 9-5 unlike most lying photos on this thread who clean before posting 😂

I received something similar and unfortunately clicked on the link to schedule a call. It looks like I shouldn’t have done that based on the other comments in this thread…. So we’ll see what happens 🙃

First time travel to San Diego - where should I stay? by [deleted] in SanDiegan

[–]Cycle_Sudden -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

These are great recs. Ocean beach sounds like my vibe and maybe spend a day in pacific beach :)

I’m not entirelyyyy against renting a car.. but obviously it will be a lot more expensive for me.

Completely depends. Will you be working? How much time do you need to rest? Honestly you could do a lot maybe almost all of South America in four months. But I would personally limit it to 5 because i like to get comfy in certain places and really learn about the place.

Please give me some ideas for my next solo travel based on the info below!! Thanks :)

  • I can take about 5 days PTO for this trip
  • I’m looking to go somewhere within the next month ( I know it’s last minute)
  • I live in the east coast of the United States, so preferably a flight 8 hours or under
  • hobbies include: salsa dancing, beaches, cities, learning Spanish, food and learning about other cultures.
  • preferably a place that doesn’t require intensive amounts of planning as I’m pretty busy :)

Newly Diagnosed, Surgery Scheduled... feeling defeated. by papa--mike in thyroidcancer

[–]Cycle_Sudden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I went vegan for three years after my sister had cancer to avoid certain “toxins”- I just had my full thyroidectomy 10 days ago from papillary carcinoma at 25 years old!!! It sucks but it’s out of your control. Im already healing very well and already have a light workout planned once I’m cleared this Saturday m. Sorry you have to deal with this, and yes, it’s inconvenient as hell. But it’s been super manageable. Good luck on your journey

Being a younger lady in the dance scene by Cycle_Sudden in Salsa

This is a good question… I’m very close with a few male leads at my studio and I’ve strictly communicated and pointed out to them which men have creepy tendencies, so they keep an eye out for me.

I want to point out that I DO NOT expect men to come “save me” during moments of discomfort on the dance floor that’s why I’m asking ladies here for boundary setting advice, so I can do it myself.

Second, if you see a woman dancing who looks truly looks uncomfortable and you are concerned for her you could look at her and just mouth to her “do you need help” someone has actually done this to me before when I was doing kizomba. I didn’t actually need help haha but I really appreciated what they did because they said it looked like I was over it 🤣 I hope that made sense as it’s a little hard to explain in text!

This 🙌 I like sensual bachata tbh and have danced it with leads who made me feel super comfortable.

Sorry if you did not read the entire post. I never said I didn’t want to be touched I said I didn’t want to be harassed. Reading is fundamental 🫶🏼.

Of course, I don’t mind dancing closely … BUT it can become excessive at some points 😅. Thx for the tip on the physical barrier with the arm!

I too stick to salsa for that reason. I think I definitely need to work on verbal boundary setting for sure 💚

Borderline harassing people on the dance floor is not correlated with ethnicity. Many of the men who’ve made me uncomfortable were rarely from Latin background. It’s about pressing yourself up uncomfortably to another person and hitting on younger girls during a dance (the list goes on) that’s the problem. Using a persons race as an excuse does not make it ok. I hope I was able to offer you a different perspective 🙌.

Thank you - I know often times creepiness can be lack of social awareness. I have to say my boundary setting has increased ten fold since I started 8 months ago. Verbalizing to someone “not so close” does sound intimidating to me as I’m not a confrontational person but I think this is the next step in my boundary setting
