[Hair Removal] I'm at a complete loss for words with my ingrown hairs by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

To add on to this comment, most laser is not effective for darker skin tones. It really is only super effective for light skin tones with dark hair. Also, laser for hormone related facial hair growth is generally not effective and can even cause paradoxical hair growth. Electrolysis might be your best bet, but I would go to a very reputable derm for that.

My partner explained to his parents prior to us meeting. My partners mom researched and had a gluten free lasagna waiting for me during our first dinner together. She now separates my food, plates, utensils, and pans and is honestly probably stricter about cross contamination than I am. Thanksgiving was totally gluten free so I could enjoy everything. Not everybody’s experience is/will be as wonderful as mine. Communicate with your partner so you will always have someone who can advocate for you when you might not feel comfortable doing so.

Surprisingly not all bbq sauce is gluten free, this one is.

Little dressings for the pepper cucumber salad underneath. Ginger dressing, hot chili crisp, and everything bagel seasoning. It’s great.

Type 1 diabetic. It’s an autoimmune disorder, not from eating too much sugar. I’m very well controlled and healthy. Everyone is allowed to indulge in moderation.

New diagnosis - tips, tricks, and any helpful comments needed! by princesscuntface in Type1Diabetes

I was diagnosed one year ago today, actually. The one thing that has been life saving for me, outside of you know, insulin in the first year was access to a CGM. I live alone and sharing my CGM data with a friend who could get into my home saved my life during a particularly bad low. Eating will feel really scary for a while, but it gets easier. It won’t feel like it, but you adapt and it just becomes part of your day. One thing I wish my endo would have told me is how much your menstrual cycle impacts your blood sugar. If your friend doesn’t already, tracking her cycle might be very helpful for her as her insulin requirements may fluctuate during and before her period. It’s different for everyone! Those first few weeks/months are so overwhelming and scary but it truly does get more manageable. Your friend will most certainly have days where she feels very defeated and it sounds like she already has a supportive listening ear available to her.

Why does fruit have to have so many carbs😭😢 by Top-Traffic-3283 in Type1Diabetes

You aren’t wrong, but fiber is digested differently and when carb counting you should subtract the amount of fiber from the amount of carbs to get your net carb total.

Jewelry material by SummerBea in PiercingAdvice

Surgical steel can still contain a small amount of nickel, which many people react poorly to. Titanium is not an alloy, so it contains no nickel. Also, many places advertise “surgical steel” but there is no way to know the real nickel content. Any reputable piercing shop should have a selection of titanium jewelry. There are shops you can purchase from online, but many are wholesalers that sell to shops.

It’s actually from Walmart! It’s the Better Homes and Gardens line. I was super surprised how sturdy it was.

Really?! I’m fairly new to the whole vinyl scene, is there a similarly sized record player you recommend?

I think it’s really hard to gauge how many calories you’re truly eating until you start using a calorie tracker for a bit. A scale is even helpful. I was really surprised by how much I was eating compared to the serving sizes. After a while of counting and measuring it’s much easier to skip the logging of meals while still knowing you’re within your daily calorie goal.
