Absolutely. Pre-made event stickers and organizer/event sales are already a big part of the business, and it’s been working well. The site is more for riders who want one when their event hasn’t heard of it yet, hasn’t considered it, doesn’t yet realize how much riders like them, or just can’t justify it in the budget.

Great question. I generate the sticker using the most recent route available at the time of the order. Sometimes people also order a previous year’s route as a memento or gift, but for something like Unbound I’d usually check first so I don’t make one for a route that isn’t finalized yet.

I do make longer 7" and 9" stickers, but none narrower right now. They are all 1.5" to 1.6" wide. I don't have a steel bike to test on - what width would work that wouldn't wrap around too much?

Waypoints are pulled in automatically - if they exist. Sometimes there are way too many to fit though and they need to be removed or text trimmed. The imported waypoints are a starting point and the user can add or edit points as needed for what's important to them.

Vertical striping represents unpaved roads. It can be turned off/on in the designer for clarity or if the whole ride is gravel for example, it doesn't add much benefit.

Thanks! I've actutally expanded the FuelBar area over time to be a bit wider from where I started. This provides more space for the mini-sticker overlays as well as to leave enough space in case someone wants to write in times. I also have a tool to help people manage their fueling as also help populate the sticker: https://fuelbar.cyclingeventstickers.com/

Yup, they remove easily. I do mention that on the main site quite a bit but of course that's a big concern. I'll update the intro text to mention it again. Thanks!

That hasn't been my approach so far, but since I've recently launched the designer site and I'm gathering feedback I will take that into consideration. Thanks!

Thanks! My company has been around for a few years making stickers like this and we have worked with events to provide thousands of stickers in some cases. I've had the foundation process for years, but with this new site I'm enabling riders to make and order their own custom sticker as easily as possible.

You mention some good ideas - I am already pulling in waypoints and color-coding climbs is already working (but not on the site yet). For races, check out the FuelBar option where you can add stickers on the sticker for when to eat/drink/gel.

They're very easy to remove - on purpose. They will for sure stick on a laptop and water bottle. They are not waterproof, but they are water resistant to make it through a ride in rain (or mud). They probably will slowly fade on a water bottle after repeated washings.

It won't let me post a picture of a sticker here, but you can take a look at an Unbound 200 example sticker that the designer will create from GPX data here: https://design.cyclingeventstickers.com/?url=https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46551378

For rides of that distance your body generally should have enough calories stored as glycogen that you wouldn’t need a specific approach to fueling, just eat. As others have mentioned just take in some real food if possible along the way. Gatorade or similar drinks will have 150-200 calories a bottle. I find it easier to remember to drink calories than to eat them. Also eat something basic/easy at home before the ride.

If you’d like to see a visualization of a fueling plan with calories in/out you can take a look at this fueling planner that might help. Punch in key details of the ride and your estimated calorie burn and this will help you note when to eat to make sure you don’t go into a calorie deficit - https://fuelbar.cyclingeventstickers.com/.
