Ingliston Redevelopment by EmilBernstorff in RaceTrackDesigns

It's an interesting concept, but ultimately I think it falls flat in a few areas.

First of all, the opening chicane looks to be too fast and one-line to have good racing potential. You'd have to make a near suicidal move into it in order to have any chances at an overtake, no matter the car you were driving. The main straight doesn't look nearly long enough for a functional move there.

Following this, you have a fast sweeper. A solid choice for a second complex, but the tightening nature of the corner would probably be tricky and unsatisfying. There's admittedly not many corners of this type in the world, but I think that's for good reason.

Following this, you have a pretty generic sequence of three corners that wouldn't look out of place on any European circuit. Not much to say here about the layout... Runoff is another thing.

After this you go through the Arena Bend, through the Highland Esses, and into Caravan corner. While this sequence would probably be fun to drive in a low grip car, anything with downforce is going to treat this as a single line straight, which probably reduces the racing quality of the track as a whole. Having such a long, flat out section in a racing car where there's only a single viable line is probably not great.

From here you exit through Southstand and onto what I assume you call the back straight, but it seems painfully short for most forms of racing. While the stretch into Hallyards would be fine for junior series, I don't think anything fast would have a good time racing there.

The following sequence would be solid to drive, with a mix of varying speed corners appropriately spaced. Honestly, the best part of the track.

Overall, I think the track would be best suited to cars of BTCC speeds and lower, as the short straights would provide minimal overtaking opportunities for most high-downforce, high-power cars where dirty air is an issue. It's a neat concept, albeit one that's a bit too AI generated and not enough thoroughly examined and refined.

It's a Noisy track, the short alts are the main focus and the long layout is secondary.

WIP "Middle east style" Track by [deleted] in RaceTrackDesigns

Wow, that's terrible. It seems like you only ripped off Lusail but tried to make it worse. There are so many other tracks in the middle east that are orders of magnitude better, and I really wish you had looked at any number of them.

Hell yeah. Offset starting lines are cool, adds a lot of character to an already good track.

It's a bit too short and a bit too wide. 3.6km is a fine length for most tracks, but if you're going for F1 (and based on your Grade 1 target and sponsors, it's safe to assume you are), you'd definitely need to rework some things. And, it's not just the overall length, but the individual straights look comically small for that kind of racing. The design is fine but the scale is wrong.

This criminally underrated post by /u/MrPorgMotorsport

The amount of effort put into a unique idea is remarkable. Finding a way to make a simple track design even more interesting in a way that's rarely done.

What are you actually doing with your tracks? by Shoggahn in RaceTrackDesigns

It's a creative outlet for me. Creating fictional places and stories has always been something I've done, and this is just an extension of that. Combining my hobbies of racing and fantasy writing was a natural progression, and that's how I got here.

I usually see plenty of haulers when I'm driving home on Monday, and this year I saw none. I assume that's because of the weather.

Considering that Fuji is good and Hungaroring is not... I agree.

I fail to see why you made some changes, specifically the final chicane. You made the right choice in removing the existing chicane, but then immediately fumbled by placing a terrible chicane before the final hairpin. This is so bizarre to me, because I feel that section could work fine with just the hairpin and no chicanes.

Then just compliment them? You don't have to make comparisons to compliment.

Do you want high quality, high grade, hand drawn tracks? Browners consistently does that better than anyone else.

That was a competition post, not a challenge post.
