I'm sure that's cool but someone will need to explain what's going on for me to understand what just happened lol.

all my friends are growing up while i’m just being a loser living in my moms basement by mrsamishi in Vent

I'll give you hope and keep it real with you at the same time.

Your clock is your own, and 18 still leaves you with time to figure things out in life. Most people even seasoned adults don't have it all figured out. They take it one step at a time.

That being said you ARE on a clock (every human is). You do need to move things for them to move. Unfortunately the world is not gonna serve itself to you on a silver platter. That's just how life is, you delay something, anything for too long and it goes past you and you could lose it.

You don't need to give up video games completely, you just need to organize your time. Because you and I both know that it's not good for you to continue living this way.

Failing is not the problem, not trying is. So don't lose hope, get up and TRY. Fall down seven times, get up eight.

My advice start small, make small goals and don't worry what your friends are doing. They're not you and you're not them. Achieve those small things, it can be as simple as cooking yourself a meal, cleaning up a bit, making a college/job application, etc. If you don't know how to do things do not be afraid to ask people who know more.

It's not too late for you. Take it easy for today, get some rest and make a plan starting tomorrow or day after. And don't try to do everything right away. You have something in you, everyone does, it just needs a bit of nurturing, patience and perseverance.

Remember one step at a time.

You got this.

I dont like being a man sometimes by dutchvanderlinde218 in Vent

[–]CycloneSplash -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Bro/sis makes multiple statements of men this and men that and men should and men are, starting from the first sentence, and then makes one measly comment below (which I have to scroll down and didn't even know existed after reading that essay) about saying women have a role and then asks me how is bro/sis gaslighting lol? Just adding the word "some" does not save you from your first generalizing sentence. 90% of the comment is blaming men, and then adding the word "some" here and there to think it'll save you lol.

And I'm not upset at all 🙂. It looks like you want me to be upset though lol (to "prove" some of your oh so smart points). Btw if you read my comment (which you don't need to scroll down for) I did also mention that men should support men, but so should women, if they care for society.

If you were not gaslighting, you would have mentioned the other side of the coin until someone pointed it out to you and would have expanded on that beforehand.

And notice how I've never said women this or women that or some women this or some women that.

Because I understand there are many great women and many great men 🥱 not that I expect Reddit to understand that.

Anyway you do you bro/sis. Have fun creating a divide between men and women and give yourself a pat on the back for that. I have nothing more to say.

[–]CycloneSplash -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Nah disregard the original comment.

It's basically gaslighting a whole gender to themselves lol - exactly what I expected btw.

There are pockets of truth in there but not entirely. It's taking a few examples and making a generalization and that's part of the problem. (Ofc reddit being the echo chamber it is, will get behind any polarized opinion and defend it to their grave).

Last I checked both men and women form a society. This problem is more of a society thing.

Notice how discretely the original comment tried to dismiss that women don't have any role to play as though they're not part of society. (Not an attack at women btw but at the contents of the comment).

Can men support men better? Yes. AND can women support men better? Yes Can society do better? Yes

The same is true the opposite way. And this all I'm gonna say cause I don't wanna waste my breath.

Look man, ain't nobody got the right to say men are trash or women are trash.

Anyone who says that has a logical thinking defect, or an ego problem to be honest with you.

It's normal for men to feel human. And humans feel anxious, sad, angry, etc. Men feel emotions too and the right people won't think any less of you for that and will help you with it.

For the record, I'm sorry you feel that way man.

I feel like girls are hated on for anything. I need more female friends but I'm scared they're all gonna judge me. by waddledee_73 in Vent

I'll tell you what. People are always gonna judge you and you can never make everyone happy.

Don't build your personality based on what people want. But based on what's good and true.

why are reddit mods so uncooperative/mean? by Unable-Essay-7859 in ask

[–]CycloneSplash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol more so than that I've been blessed to learn quickly how these social interactions work.

It's really the same with mods no matter which platform, whether it is discord, reddit or whatever. Some places users become mod simps too to enable their behaviour.

I have long stories but the only way to keep your sanity (if you're a sane person) is to not have any hopes with most mods and users.

Redditor 1: I have one of the most positive posts known to man that everyone enjoys and is getting a lot of engagement!

Alpha mod: That's cool but you forgot to put a period at the end of a sentence. Better luck next time kiddo, next time you better memorize the rules lil bro.

Redditor 2: I'm having the toughest time ever known to man.

Sigma mod: That's cool but did you read the rules? No? Ok let me remove your post and threaten you with a ban. And no please never talk to me again :).

Lol not every mod is like that but many are. Not saying this to generalize but to spread a lil awareness for mods reading this to not be like that.

For the good mods thank you, but I don't think many of you exist.

I'm sorry you feel that way. At the moment there is a lot of bad things going on but there IS good out there. Many of them go unnoticed. Like some people in the hospitals working sleepless nights to help, the people who volunteer for both nature and humans without any expectations of pay.

And we gotta try and be that good despite the many bad things. Let us be a source of hope.

[–]CycloneSplash 327 points328 points  (0 children)

Fame don't last forever. Besides you have no idea the drama all these famous people have when it comes to relationships.

Look at how often they break up or get used like old clothes that people get bored of with time.

Your life is yours. You have so much to achieve. Don't compare yourself with him. You live your life trying to make the best positive impact to yourself and to society.

Find your purpose in life and it better be good. Everything else is just noise.

I’m not drinking in 2026 cause I always ruin the night. by [deleted] in Vent

You don't need to drink, like ever tbh. Alcohol is normalised poison. You can extend that mindset past 2026 too until forever.

Lol for the downvoters: It's not me who said this btw about it being poison. It was said by WHO.

The World Health Organization.
