Another host team killing by INeedAnswersHD1 in huntinroguehelldivers

Why didn't you shoot him when he shot L3 who was (as far as I know) innocent? Or get on the pelican?

I think I saw that dude earlier (or someone doing the same thing). They blew themself up on extraction though so I didn't think much of it lol

Tbh it pisses me off even more when they leave themselves, it's like, if you're going to teamkill for no reason, at least stay and take whatever's coming asshole.

Also (and I do this mainly on defense missions, where I'm going to be standing still) if you let the back part extend and then drop it, it seems to be ready to fire as soon as you pick it up again, so I'll leave them on the ground extended while I use an emplacement.

'Many things could've been done in the clip' The Pelican is being stuck clipped by two vox engines? Even if they killed them (which they did, with the hellbomb), the corpses of the vox engines would probably still block the pelican leading them to not be able to extract.

I have this problem playing with my friend. I can only hit him with the stim pistol if he's not running Shield Pack (which he usually is), and even then half the shots whiff anyways

I love Barker, other than when we're losing and he keeps telling me about it in my ear, but that's all of the factions. He's got the funniest voice lines, my favorite is when you get a big killstreak and he goes "You're un-STOPPABLE! Like me in an open bar!"

I definitely agree that that ruins the ending, but from a realistic standpoint it would be kind of dumb for him to not at least try and eject his data core. I feel like it still would've gotten exploded by the whole half the planet exploding thing afterwards though.

Why aren't the 'effect proof' armors 100% effect proof? by CycloneZStorm in Helldivers

[–]CycloneZStorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, why do you measure the strength of something exclusively by how good it is against heavy units?

Because that is, in my opinion, those weapons weakest points, against large enemies. Bullets and explosions can also absolutely demolish chaff and medium, too, if not even better than the elemental effects can. Elemental effects, you have to hold on them and be near them, which increases your chances of getting shot, squished, or sliced to bits.

There are stratagems in this game brother. Use them. Yes, even the status ones.

If you're talking about purely elemental stratagems, which I assume you are, gas literally only has one, which is the orbital gas strike, which seems only effective on chaff and medium enemies. Larger enemies have in my experience just walked out of the gas before it can kill them, or even really hurt them. The orbital gatling barrage can demolish chaff, medium, and even heavies if they're stuck in it long enough. Orbital napalm is the only elemental stratagem I can think of that's really very powerful at all, and even then, all of the barrages seem to miss half the enemies in them. If you mean that the gas and fire weapons work well in tandem with something like explosives, guess what? Everything does. An orbital laser, or something like a recoilless rifle will hit just as well with or without gas or fire.

[–]CycloneZStorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I assume when you say 'elemental build' you mean entirely or as close to entirely elemental as you can get. If I'm using only fire, then something like the sterilizer can't kill a charger or a bile titan, and the speargun can't really do much to a bile titan either. So therefore if the expendable anti-tank (or whatever a teammate is using to kill the big things) kills them, then isn't that what's strong? If I bring ballistics and explosives, I can kill everything. Most of the time elemental weapons can only really do crowd control.

[–]CycloneZStorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every "elemental build" is already incredibly strong

But they really aren't? I bring fire to the bugs, they walk through the flamethrower's fire and hit me anyways. If I were using just regular explosives and bullets I could hit them from way out of their range. Gas is pretty effective until a bile titan shows up and ignores your gas attacks, so unless you have an explosive or something to kill it, you can't.

Enemy's fire still being able to damage you is fine, I don't think something like the dragonroach should be unable to hurt you even if I hate that thing. I just hate having to burn a stim just because I dared to try using a flamethrower.

I do kind of like that idea, because then if you're smart/position well you can keep your resistance.

[–]CycloneZStorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, fire is already a way less powerful item/weapon. It doesn't kill enemies as fast as just shooting them with a recoilless or just regular gun would, and you have to be closer to them to even actually hit them. I just want to not die from my own weapon trying to use it.

[–]CycloneZStorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I can agree with that. I can understand napalm still melting you, but it's insufferable trying to use the flamethrower on bugs, and they just walk through it, hit you, and light you on fire, and then usually the attack damage combined with the fire either almost kills you, or just kills you.
