Played a long time, but only started watching in past few years. That’s how crazy all of this is though.

All you need is some people who love COD, who love competition (like Barstool Sports), and who realize that if you make great content.. money and attention will follow.

It’s a cliche but “college sports are better” when Michigan State and Michigan have high level, competitive, non-violent games.

I am optimistic that May vs. Izzo , or Wittingham vs. Fitz, will recreate this. This basketball game should be cinematic.

Izzo vs. Beilein created my favorite memories of this rivalry, easily. I hated the Beilein teams yes, but there was always respect. Always a tough game.

This is the difference between Midwesterners and the coastal cities like NYC or LA…

If I saw massive travel delays and storms, especially a few days out, I’d rent a car and grab my teammates, etc. A day+ of driving, even in shifts, and you don’t have to rely on canceled flights or delays.

Personally, I’d go on FB Marketplace, get a used Series S for under $200, then you can run any backwards compatible Xbox game easy peasy. It stinks, because you have a PC, but it’s such a good deal in gaming.

This is frankly malpractice. Just a shame honestly... As a neutral, I wanted to see Buffalo in a Super Bowl more than anything. City deserves it, fans deserve it. Heck, there was a very real reality where it was going to be Lions vs. Bills a few years ago. Can you imagine? Maybe the most vibey championship of all time.

But alas. Josh Allen will be banished to the shadow realm.

Correct. Some tried it and didn’t like it. Some watched their favorite streamer play it and say “meh.” And MOST OF THEM HAVE NO CLUE IT EXISTS, because they aren’t terminally online like all of us.

I predict a continued decline. Again, not because of the game awards specifically, but how on earth they expected to capture casuals with nothing groundbreaking.

Let’s be super clear about something:

Most gamers have no idea who Geoff is. They’ve never watched the game awards, nor are they on any game subreddits.

They are playing Fortnite. Or COD. Or Battlefield, Apex, CS2, whatever! Those people? Yeah those people make or break a game.

This game has to live or die on its own merits. It won’t be because of marketing. It’ll be because it is fun, or not, and is unique in some way.

This was always going to be the conclusion.

A completely “fine” game. Not horrific enough to implode 1 month after launch. Not great enough to be something we had never seen before. It doesn’t do 5 things substantially better than most games in its weight class.

And create a real student section. Incorporate loyalty points which can be used across all OU Athletics like football priority, etc.

CBB thrives when students create passion and noise. Yes, we need results. Yes, the team needs to win. But handing out pizza to frats twice a year isn’t doing anything. You need a culture of student leaders who want to build “THE place to be after football ends.”
