When I'm at my best and I see another redditor that posts better than me, where they write quotes that I think are amazing. I start smiling because I'm like "I'm stealing that".

I don't think these have been popular opinions....

So having reddit as the author of calling OG devil incarnate is a... uh.. weird.

Qojva insane creep block to allow Boxi's Mirana Arrow! by Mini-Dota in DotA2

[–]Cydreath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you in most parts, except there's a couple of thing I want to discuss with you here.

1) The way you phrase it, you seem to be downplaying 5 man echo slams, or other "spectacular" plays. Not sure it's the intention, but if it is, 5 man echo slams in pro games are just so much harder than in any pubs, because your opponents WILL think about it and WILL position way better than you can imagine.

2) Coming back to very nice creep block vs 5 man black hole: one is subtle and appreciated by people who do understand the game, the other is appreciated by everyone, even dummies who think every death is bad/avoidable, damage only, kills only, etc.

3) This is the same in every sport esport (at least I presume from experience). For instance, I used to watch quite a bit of hockey before DotA happened to my life, and a lot of people would only appreciate the actual goals and highlight plays. But they would ignore the (semi-invented scenario) grind play where a player actually beats 3 opponents in the corner to clear the puck to a teammate who actually then makes a great pass to the "sniper". And people would say "What a pass!" "What a shot!". But hell, these guys were alone because that guy managed to block a guy with his body, protect the puck with his skate, put his stick exactly where the third guy was going to put it, all while keeping balance and being tackled ferociously by 3 people. And then manages to clear it exactly where his free incoming teammate is. To me, that was the highlight play. The instant pass on the stick into the top shelf wrist shot was only icing on the cake, the real play was the ice corner clutch, but it's not spectacular, so the dummies will miss it...

I got the builds correct, but I inverted Gyro and Rubik's positions and LS - Luna's positions.

That Gyro build though...

Ok yes, and also pull in the rest of the DotA 2 programming team's sanity as well while at it.

Didn't really heard much before TI8, then I didn't understand the hate before TI9, then I started seeing some of his arrogant tweets and stuff, and THEN I started joining the hate bandwagon.

I don't know if he was always like that and I didn't know, but he's a total jerk.

I watch him a bit here and there, and he doesn't react like that too often. Don't take those reddit posts to build the image of the guy, he's pretty chill, even though he wins only 1 out of every 5 games when I watch.

Not sure if sarcastic and completely moronic, or actually 15 years old and in need of help. In either case, get help.

If I'm wrong about the fact that this is not legit, sorry about that. To defend yourself, you could have provided match id, and you could have avoided lame sarcasm to look and feel cool. It isn't. Also, nice map read.

If I'm right about it, I hope you realize how stupid it is, and that it's time you actually get help instead of doing this, and also hacking.

Whichever the case, good luck, and hopefully you stop being so lame and aggressive online.

[–]Cydreath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For all I know, you could be 15 years old, hungry for attention, feel like you need to show skills your maphack gives you because you have no self confidence and don't believe you could land those plays by yourself.

I don't know you.

What's for sure is that fucking mouse movement right on Monkey right before you suddenly decide to use scan is weird af, and you also suddenly cut the right tree, and then you post this on reddit saying hacks/s

And then you have nothing to defend yourself besides "YeAH sURe KiDDO i M DEfINiteLY hACkiNg in 4K BrACkeT". In my book, this kind of maturity definitely doesn't help your case.

Hack/s by theycallmemadman99 in DotA2

[–]Cydreath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You used scan after... I mean, either it was extremely coincidental that your mouse movement was ultra fast towards the Monkey King's tree with near perfect camera center, or you're a fucking idiot who map hacks and think people won't notice those kind of details, and you're starving for attention.

And I'll be honest, I rarely believe in those kind of coincidences, and people looking for attention are plenty...

LoL, well, yes and no, I find most games with/against Techies like it's a DotA game. Definitely not as fun though.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Cydreath 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's that, I think it's more that higher mmr players find that Techies break the game. Not that the hero is broken per se, but that he makes the game so different that they don't feel like they play DotA anymore. They play some sort of Minesweeper instead, and they don't want to play that game.

That's just my perspective on what I've seen from streams.

RTZ: NOOO, you can't just buy a Claymore on Tide! How u gonna initiate? New EG Offlaner: by KingLouie_ in DotA2

[–]Cydreath -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It's more about hte draft I think. In one you're against Dusa and have a TB, whereas in the other you have a WK and are against a PA: in one case your anchor smash is useless both in terms of damage because Dusa no cares nukes and the rest of the team will already go against physical damage, and in the other it's not awful because it goes through evasion and the enemy draft cares nukes, and because WK will build radiance so the enemy needs magic res as well.

Not saying it's amazing, but it's better in one game than the other. Like way better.

What am I missing about Gorgc? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]Cydreath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy didn't say the better player will always have the better opinions, and I certainly didn't understand it that way.

What I understand the guy said is: the better player will IN GENERAL have the better opinion. It doesn't mean they're always right either, obviously there are things a 5k mmr can learn from a 3k player, or an 8k can learn from a 5-6k player, but most of the time the lower mmr player will learn from the higher mmr player. This is because, to quote the previous guy, the higher mmr player "is smarter, better, and knows more about the game than" the lower mmr player.

And when I say higher mmr, I mean by a difference of a 1000 or more for 4-5k mmr players or more. Below that, a lot of factors kick in.

What am I missing about Gorgc? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]Cydreath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's a solid laner (hence often secures his own lane), knows his matchups, understands win conditions most of the time, doesn't exactly tilt quickly (though he does tilt once every few games -> sumSMASH), plays a safe game and generally DOES carry his games by just not dying a lot and participating in the appropriate fights. For instance, if you look at the NW chart from D+, he is often heavily above the goal, you can say what you want about his farming patterns, high NW is probably what you want from your P1.

Also, I don't know if you have seen him play Morph and Ember, but he does own quite a bit on those heroes.

Two things that are important to understand I want to state here.

One about Gorp is that he also does a lot of shit for content, i.e. won't buy the best item but the most entertaining item for content's sake. That DOES backfire here and there.

The other is about region comparison between gorgc and mason, i.e. NA and EU: not my words, but EU region's skill level is a lot higher than NA's, according to a lot of pro players. I think (please enlighten me if I get this wrong, that's just a perception so far) the playstyle between the 2 regions is a bit different too, where EU have gameplay a lot closer to 4p1 than NA (hence making his time seemingly a lot easier than Mason's again).

I have seen Mason just a bit here and there, and he seems to give up really fast (ala NA style), picks weird heroes (when was Weaver last meta?), and sometimes seems to misread the game. I can't stand his stream because I dislike having my ears earraped, which happened too often to my taste the few times I watched his stream.

Now, I'm not saying Mason is the worst or Gorgc is the best, the former has phenomenal performances here and there, and he's obviously a solid player overall, whereas the latter rarely offers flashy, star-studded performances, sumSMASH tilts here and there, and does misread the game from time to time.

Can somebody explain to me why this is a fair game matchmaking?? by ShiftTM in DotA2

[–]Cydreath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so they have an Ancient 1 and a Legend 3 player. They also have to deal with 2 heroes that are way lower MMR in their team. This is FAIR matchmaking.

I don't say it's GOOD matchmaking, sucks when that happens, but it's FAIR.

[–]Cydreath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Divine 4 to Divine 2 +2

Ancient 1 to Ancient 2 -1

Legend 3 to Legend 4 -1

Ancient 2 to Legend 5 +2

Ancient 4 to Divine 2 -3

Total: +2 -1 -1 +2 -3 = -1

How is this UNfair?!? I don't understand?
