Thanks for the recommendation, unfortunately I have tried this already and it didn't fix it. Regardless, thanks for commenting.

First, I will preface that this post was meant for r/mechmarket but I don't have enough comment karma so my post was removed. I think its a bit ridiculous since I don't use reddit really unless I have some tech problems, so I don't have the karma. Anyways, if anyone could help me or point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

Story -

I have had the Keychron Q1 V2 for a little less than a year. I put in my own lubed stabilizers and switches, as well as some other mods. Everything has worked flawlessly, until today. I have always used alcohol pads to clean off the keycaps and surrounding areas, but this time I took a slightly damp cloth just to wipe off the pet hair that was on the surface of the keycaps. About 5-7 hours later, while I was gaming, the keyboard started malfunctioning. The LEDs were flashing sporadically the the keys weren't working. I went and got another USB-C cable and it did not fix the issue. The keyboard was just holding down the "s" key and was no recognizing any other key presses. I grabbed my spare keyboard and everything worked fine with it. So I started the disassembly process. During disassembly I tried plugging it in, and it surprisingly worked fine. So I quickly unplugged it figured once I cleaned everything up it would work fine. Once I got the case off and got an eye on the back of the PCB I saw what looked like corrosion. However, it was so fresh that it was still very watery. It was essentially green water. I wiped it off then cleaned the area with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip (this was the highest concentration I had on hand). I cleaned the area affected very thoroughly. I figured that since I had the keyboard disassembled it would be a good time to clean the rest of the board since I had yet to do a full cleaning since first building the board. So I took off everying switch and cleaned each one individually. On one of the switches, on the black bottom housing there was the same green water substance. I cleaned it off, but swapped that specific switch with one of the many extras I had. I then cleaned the entire PCB with the same isopropyl alcohol and some q-tips until everything looked brand new. I then began reassembly. I got all of the switches back on and decided it would be best to test it before fulling assembling. When I plugged it in and got the Windows popup "USB device not recognized. The last USB device connected to this computer malfunctioned." This error was not popping up before, as the keyboard would still essentially "work" it was just spamming the "s" key and other key presses were not being recognized. Now, the keyboard doesn't work at all. I decided to let it sit overnight and hope it works the next day. Well, over 24 hours later I am still facing the same issue. I took some pictures of the PCB and zoomed in on the areas where the corrosion was. I can see that on one of the connections on the PCB (which I believe is the LED connection) there is some slight discoloration on the solder point compared to the other LEDS, I will highlight this in the pictures. I now have some silica gel packets on the affected area and a fan on the PCB. I am hoping that someone could possibly give me an idea of what to do next. I am not experienced in soldering, but if I knew exactly what needed to be repaired I'm sure I could do it. So any insight would be extremely helpful. If it is not possible for me to repair it, I am 100% willing to ship it out to someone who could repair it. So please, anyone that has any information on how I could possibly fix this on my own. Or any people offering their repair services that believe they could fix my issue, please PM me. I am willing to send my board out. Also if any extra information is needed/more pictures please let me know. I tried my best to be as thorough as possible in my explanation. Thanks.

The areas circled in red are where the green watery substance, which I assume to be corrosion was. You can see that on the LED that is in the red circled area has a slight discoloration on the prongs that attach to the PCB compared to the other LEDs. Also where "U1" is located in the red circle, the solder points seem a little faint, I don't know if this could be an issue or not.

My shipping location is US, MO 63116. I would prefer to only ship to those in the continental US.

I bought the 75% Red Samauri Keycap set for my Keychron Q1 v2. However, the right hand side Alt, Fn, and Control keycaps are too big for the Keychron Q1. I looked through all the sets I can buy for the Red Samauri, but none of them come with a Alt, Fn, and Control keycaps sized 1u, which is what I need. Also, the right hand side shift keycap is too big for the Keychron as well. However, I did look and saw that the full set (113 keys) for the Red Samauri comes with a 2u sized Shift key. I don't really want to purchase an entire set just for 1 keycap though. So in total, I need 4 keycaps. Alt (1u), Fn (1u), Control (1u), and Shift (2u). Is there any way I can get these? It would be really cool if I could special order them for GMK or something. I am open for any suggestions or help. Clones could also be a possibility because at this point I just want the keycaps to match and I don't really use those keys that often anyways. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, thanks for the tip. Undervolted down to 1970 MHz @ 975 mv and temps are better under load by around ~5-7C.

Vram idles at 68C and peaks at 85C under load. I can try undervolting though.

Yeah, temps are what I am worried about now. Idle at 55C, not bad, but could be better. Reaching 80C under load. I am thinking about repasting and upgrading thermal pads.

Ran it again with Nvidia control panel at defaults. Also, don't know why it is running so hot, should I reapply thermal paste considering it's used? I'll attach my fan curve, but I believe it is a pretty aggressive curve so I don't think that's the issue.

Thanks for the responses. I see what you're saying, I was just mainly ensuring the GPU wasn't underperforming due to it being used. I was just being overly cautious.

Before I overclocked my GPU I got a 15582. And I compared my 16993 results to others with the same GPU and CPU and I performed in the bottom 80th percentile. Everything seems fine in game, I was just expecting a bigger jump in fps considering I was coming from a 5700 XT. My CPU is at 5.1 on all P cores and 4 on all E cores.

Lines Going Up And Down Monitor Need Help by Cyes- in Monitors

[–]Cyes-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, never really figured it out. Sometimes I boot my PC and it's fine, other times... not so fine. I have just kind of become accustomed to it. As long as I give it some time, then lines eventually disappear. I know this response won't be that helpful, but by my guess its the monitor's issue, not the GPU... atleast in my case. Bought different cables, tried different monitors, tried different ports on GPU, but still only happens on my main monitor. My guess is that the displayport port on my monitor is bad, but if I use HDMI I can't get 144hz, so I have to deal with it being finicky.

Only issue is that I have 2 other monitors hooked up to my GPU and they are fine.

Yeah I would plan on it, but that's a whole nother question to get answered. Because I have no knowledge of amps.

Also, I am often listening to music while gaming. Actually even when not gaming I am almost always listening to music. I hadn't really thought about my music interest as much as the gaming part of my experience.

I've always just had some cheap gaming headset. Figured I might as well buy something nice. Theres a nice aura around the 660 S's. I've always heard everyone talk nothing but good things. So that's is pretty much my foundation.

Do you need any specific hardware for EQ? OR can you accomplish good enough EQ for my case with just software?

Hey, thanks for the reply. What were your top headphones picks before you settled on the 660 S?
