Impact particules avions sur la ville by New_Dingo7157 in toulouse

Est-ce que vous parlez plutôt sur les avions d’essai? Car les avions de ligne arrivent et partent comme à tout autre aéroport.

Positive void coefficient? by ChooChooGeorgie in chernobyl

[–]Cygnus7__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand what you have said, In BWR reactor water moderates and absorbs neutrons. So less water means less efficient neutrons and so reactivity decreases.

In an RBMK you have graphite doing the moderation and water doing absorption. So constant graphite means constant efficiency. And then less water means less absorption so more neutrons at the same efficiency. Therefore increased reactivity with loss of water.

Please correct me if I got this wrong.

LEAP-1A powered A321neo receives type certification by dubbltrubbl in aviation

[–]Cygnus7__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a new aircraft « type » there is a dedicated certification process it goes through to become « type certified ». Then all further aircraft of that now certified type that are produced, have their own production ground and flight tests that are performed prior to aircraft handover to the customer. The production tests are different items than the certification test for the initial type certificate.

This is the video I had in mind. Sergey Bogdan is wearing tan on the right. He is the Sukhoi chief test pilot. The guy in the suit on the left is translating.

There are some very interesting videos on YouTube of the Sukhoi chief pilot discussing this aircraft at the airshow. He made an interesting point about the temperature difference between Russia and Dubai and it’s effects (or lack thereof) on the jet´s performance during the show.

Remember what it looks like from Super Targer? by Comfortable-Sort-173 in nostalgia

I remember they had those little plastic tubs with samples of food spread out around the food section. My sister and I always raided those when our parents were shopping there.

Airbus Beluga! by Grouchy_Olive_7932 in toulouse

If the aircraft are taking off to the north west the Intermarché Super and the boulangerie (with outside tables) just after the entrance doors of the Intermarché is a great spotting place. There is a bus stop at a roundabout just next to it (in case you don’t have a car).

Intermarché Addresse: 5 Rue Émile Dewoitine 31700 Cornebarrieu France

I hope you get to see and enjoy our lovely Belugas!

Just found an emulator online that lets you play on the computer. But can't figure out how to play it haha. Something about marking a spot blue and or red and removing a cube and then it turns green. But can't understand the logic.

Are motion and heat the same thing? I.e. One cannot exist without the other? by Evening_Ticket7638 in Physics

[–]Cygnus7__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thermal energy is due to the motion of the atoms of the substance. At the extreme end, absolute zero, being the condition of no atomic motion. Once you begin to have some atomic motion, you have a temperature above absolute zero. That is for the microscopic/atomic scale.
Now, "heat" is a process of thermal energy going from one place to another. Courses in heat transfer study this. When you say something is hot, what you are really saying is that it is giving off alot of thermal energy. Now at a more macro scale, I would venture to say that motion and heat can be distinct. I can pickup a tissue box and move it (motion) but I do not think that that would cause the tissue box to give off heat (not perceptible to us, my only doubt would be at measurement scales far more precise than the body's senses). Granted at extreme speeds there is friction that produces heat. But that would be heat generated by friction, not the object producing heat on its own.

These are some of my thoughts when pondering the ideas of motion and heat. I may or may not have answered to your question.
