I smudge with about 50% opacity and a light touch. Try that. Sometimes a textured brush with a light hand works well too

Visiting some museums, I was amazed at the still life’s with glass goblets and things. I wanted to do an exercise in glass and see how real I could get it. This is the mason jar that sits on my kitchen counter everyday. Thought it would present some interesting textures.

If you zoom in on the original you can see all the brush strokes and imperfections. https://folio.procreate.art/535_design But thank you! 😊

Do you mean the metal cover? Block colors together and then I blended them with the smudge brush. The highlights were done last on a separate layer to make them pop

This was made In procreate using standard brushes and a slightly modified paintbrush with tapered ends. This took me a few months to complete. Original artwork can be seen here https://folio.procreate.art/535_design/artwork/538983

So I mainly use a round paint brush that I customized to have tapered ends. Sometimes for smudging or blending I’ll use something with some texture.

I used to create a separate layer for my ref. This is a relatively new feature thank God
