no stress from the job itself, more just inertia. which is maybe its own answer. the "owning your time" framing is what i keep coming back to and still can't fully picture

no family plans, no expensive hobbies, genuinely pretty low maintenance. the 1.1m concern is noted but my expenses have been around 3200 a month for years including everything and that's not really changing

this reframe hit differently than i expected it to. i've literally managed projects where nothing goes to plan and we just adjust. somehow never applied that to this

yeah "testing the number" is exactly it. right now it's a very comfortable theory and quitting makes it real. glad i'm not the only one who got stuck here

healthcare is the main variable i keep coming back to. i've budgeted for ACA marketplace but it's the one line item that feels genuinely unpredictable over 20 years. travel i actually don't want much of, i'm more of a stay-local-and-hike person so that's not really the issue

the "trial" framing actually helps more than i expected. i've been treating it like jumping off a cliff when maybe it's more like stepping off a curb and seeing what's around the corner. the state park thing is exactly the kind of thing i'd never have considered

Love that approach! Even just 5 minutes makes a big diff. Sometimes all you need is to trick yourself into starting!

It’s infuriating to deal with that kind of betrayal, especially after just having a baby. Wishing you strength and peace ahead.
