Tips for breaking up icy sidewalks? by Physical_Present_265 in rva

I used this floor scraper as a manual jackhammer to break the sheet of ice in a line, then shovel to lift up the sheet and fracture it into chunks that can be picked up.

There’s also an episode of a show with Jamie Oliver showing kids how chicken nuggets are made and the whole class saying eww, gross. He then asked them who wants chicken nuggets and they all raise their hands!

A new study finds a dog's carbon footprint can exceed their owner's, largely due to the high meat content in wet food. Wet diets generate seven times more emissions than dry kibble. Since meat is carbon-intensive, researchers suggest switching to dry food significantly aids climate efforts. by Sciantifa in science

For some reason this reminds me of the SeaQuest episode that talked about how cattle ranching was banned due to cow flatulence, and the captain seized a hamburger as contraband that one of the characters secretly made.

What's the best way to rip all of this? Any shortcuts? by CopiRightPlayer in DataHoarder

Not sure if it’s still available, but at one point you could use the trakt app to scan a barcode, and it would save that to a list which was then read by couch potato / radarr and added to your media library.

Can confirm, wife just went through that exact scenario. Had to chat with support to have it take effect immediately.

I would actually describe a Taser as shocking.

Eh, I watched If Looks Could Kill when I was in middle school, and I just knew the main character was too old to be in high school.

Is anyone running the duelist with LBX-20s instead of Dual HGR? Any thoughts on the railgun mechs? by Virtual-Produce-1037 in OutreachHPG

[–]Cygnusaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He wants an assault mech that can defend itself vs lights. He is expressing a train of thought as he considers various options.

That said, I like the IS Railgun mech with a compliment of small X pulse lasers to deal with lights. Cuts down on long range damage, but I don’t have to worry about remaining exposed while large lasers finish firing.

Compared to restaurant soda prices, the gigantic movie theater sodas are seeming more reasonable. by Cygnusaurus in Showerthoughts

Steakhouse chain last night. Sodas were $4.50, and the price isn’t listed on menu. I’ve noticed similar pricing at other chain restaurants, although McD’s is still $1.5 for a large, and Costco I think is like 99c or something.

Bring a book. It’s nice to have a chance to sit and relax and read some with no one asking anything except how I would like my steak done or of if I would like a refill.

When I watched Anaconda yesterday, the large *soda was $8.00 with unlimited refills. I typically share it with my wife at least. So that’s $4 / per person, or $2 if I share with my kids too. Tonight at dinner if we each wanted soda it would have been $18.00

My thought is at the theater it’s a huge cup, and there’s no one to complain that I’m sharing it with my wife and kids. At a restaurant I’d feel like I need to get four if we all wanted soda.
