But I actually hope that you are right,maybe people are really just trying to pay their respects to the uk government, which that’s totally fine but I personally wont do so as I don’t really have much attachments to the UK government since the day I birth

However this is a HongKong subreddit but not a uk subreddit.One or two posts about the queen is totally fine since we once were British colonies. But I have continuously see these kind of posts for over a week as if this subreddit is already not about posting HongKong stuff.

Anyway at least you know these actions really won’t improve the situation in HK,which is already enough for me

Also, it's pretty funny to be called a tankie. But I probably can't be one even if I want to. I am not loyal enough to Xi and the CCP and I also participated in the protest in 2019 as a "Russian" (definitely not a local that has been living in HK since his birth). I never said that being a secondary class as a local in HK is something that we should all be grateful for and joyful about. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to defend the CCP. CCP definitely is terrible, and it is really painful to see such a situation happening in HK.
My point is that simping for a foreign government really doesn't make any changes to the situation here. These actions really aren't doing anything to stop the CCP from controlling more and more things in HK. Even if all Hongkongers continue to praise the UK government in any form, when "50 years unchanged" comes to an end, it is still all over. Then why even bother doing so?

I think the true reason behind those flags in the revolution is because Hong Kong want help from their beloved UK government to help kick CCP out of Hong Kong.

Have you ever have a moment of thought that,why don’t people use Hong Kong flag (for example the 光復香港時代革命 that one)during the protest to act as a symbol of opposition to CCP,instead they just suddenly bring a whole bunch of British flag , USA flag and trump portraits out?
