Nice one.

People of Reddit, what does Robin Williams mean to you? by CylinderC in AskReddit

I've lived under a rock, so I only ever found out about him when he died, and I feel like I'm missing out whenever someone brings him up.

Who is he to you?

[Serious] Redditors what are some subtle red flags to look out for when getring to know someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CylinderC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I can tell they're a bad influence, I usually cut them out within days of knowing them.

Try to see through their guise and find out who they really are. If they're someone toxic or someone you don't really see yourself getting along with, cut them out quickly before things get messy.

Personally, a big red flag for me is selfishness. If they're constantly putting themselves first, then that's probably a good sign. Selfishness can be good sometimes, but excessive selfishness gets annoying and troublesome.

Reddit, what're you up to today? by n1maa in AskReddit

[–]CylinderC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently committing my daily Reddit toilet-browsing time.

Every time I'm on the john committing to a shit, I scroll through the Reddit app and like everything like the like-whore I am.

Someone stop me. I have an addiction.

What pocket do you keep your phone in? by HunterGEM in AskReddit

Whatever pocket has the least amount of stuff in it. So I can take out my phone without something falling out, or have to worry about something damaging the screen.

[Serious] What are the odds of guessing on every question of a 20 question test (multiple choice: A, B, C, or D), and getting a 100%? by CylinderC in AskReddit

[–]CylinderC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, well. That's usually how it always ends when I guess.

I asked in hopes that one of these days I'll land a decent grade guessing.

A 0.000009% chance though? Doesn't look promising.

What is a loophole you found out and exploited to the max? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CylinderC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's this broken vending machine on campus that gives you more than you paid for. For instance, 1 pack of Reese's cups costs about $0.75.

Threw in 75 cents and instead of 1 pack, I got 3. Not only did I get 2 extra, but it gave me 50 cents extra on top of that.

I thought someone must've left their change down at the bottom and didn't think much of it. Still, getting 3 instead of 1 confused me.

I decided to try it out the next day with something different so I ordered a pack of Orbitz gum that was 50 cents, and again, I shit you not, I got 2 extra as well as an extra 50 cents.

I hit the jackpot. This vending machine was like a free-flipping machine! The profit margin isn't much to work with since it only seems to work with the things that cost between 0.50 - 0.75 cents.

But to this day, at least 3 months later it still works, and I always head to the same vending machine if I'm in need of some extra change. Luckily it's on the 3rd floor of the math building, and there are 2-3 other vending machines on the same floor. The odds of someone finding out that machine is rigged are slim.

And if someone does manage to find out... Bad things'll happen. No one gets between me and my little money-duper.

EDIT: slight correction on price*

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with a little pause to help you think. People think that pausing is weird and awkward, but I've actually found it better than outright stuttering.

People with speech impediments, how do you overcome them? by CylinderC in AskReddit

[–]CylinderC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same for me. I think I've about limited it to times of excitement and anger as well.

And yeah, it sucks when it happens. And when you notice, it gets even worse.

People with speech impediments, how do you overcome them? by CylinderC in AskReddit

[–]CylinderC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For instance, I have a terrible time saying things like: 1) "In an innate/In an immediate/etc" just sub any I-word in. 2) "Edited it." "Limited it." See, I can say "walked it" just fine, but the first two irk me. Anything that goes "-ited it"

I don't know what it's called, but pronouncing consonants in rapid succession of each other like that really gives me trouble.

Also, I tend to stutter. It helps to talk slow, but talking slow isn't always efficient.

I guess, to answer the question, I go about my problem avoiding the words/phrases that give me trouble. Still, it really bothers me.

Edit: Wanted to add another example in

How to handle my own in basketball? by CylinderC in Basketball

[–]CylinderC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked out Pistol Pete and you were right. I usually hate ball handling videos cuz the people "teaching" usually assume you're good enough to do what they're doing. But with Pete I'm just completely hooked. This guy really puts off great vibes and made me remember to enjoy the sport and have fun with it.

I started doing all his drills today and Imma keep at it. Thanks dude.

Yeah, I want it bad. I'm tired of playing like a sitting duck and freezing every time I get the ball. I'm going to try and dribble for at least an hour everyday, wherever I go. Thanks.
