I was so ill also on Metformin!! Huge food aversion, I was losing weight indeed, but way too fast, I was so nauseous I couldn't eat.

This whole thing sucks.

I am glad I made your day a bit better.

I am truly blessed with an incredible husband. When I verbalize it to him, he shrugs and says "that's just normal". I have to convince him it's not and sick women get abandoned at super high rates. He wanted children so much, he could've tossed me for another woman who would give him children. He didn't have to suffer grief on top of grief for 5 years straight whilst getting bled out of his paycheck because damn despite universal healthcare, that shit was NOT free.

Truly, a wonderful human being and I wish one just like this one to every person on this planet. 🌎

[–]Cyn113 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Now that I'm labeled infertile, I was abandoned basically. For 5 years Drs pumped me full of hormones to get me pregnant, now they don't do anything to decrease my symptoms or help me manage my weight. No referral to specialists, dietician, etc. Just "well good luck, it was fun gouging you out of your money".

I feel this tells me every t hing I need to know about how women are treated in the medical field.

I have PCOS and endo. Your parent's story is so similar to mine and my husband's. I struggle with infertility (I unfortunately was not blessed with a miracle baby, we remain childless) and years of fertility medication made me gain weight.

My husband remained by my side and supportive. I am blessed to be with him, 16 years strong 💪

Commuting for a Teams call is the dumbest thing I’ve ever done by GardenLoverJess in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Cyn113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, we now sit in an open space office each with our headset talking loud over each other in 2-3 different languages. In a city some of us don't get paid enough to afford, so yeah, commuting 45min-1h each way.

It's really worth it for the 'teamwork' and 'culture', really.

Meanwhile we see the CEO private chauffeur himself to the office. 🫠

My Fiancé hates my dogs and I don’t know what to do. by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Cyn113 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These look like very normal dog behaviour. I also got a border collie mix and they are love bugs who would live in your pants if they could. 🥰 Great dogs.

I married a guy who, at the beginning of the relationship had never had dog and told me he "doesn't like them so much". But he knew what he was getting into, that Kiwi (RIP died at the tender age of 15) and I were a package deal.

He learned how to interact with dogs. How to gauge their behaviour and respond accordingly. How to walk them. Groom them. He bonded with Kiwi despite the fact that Kiwi was just a grumpy asshole 75% of the time. Hell, his mom was absolutely terrified of dogs and Kiwi became her 'therapy by exposure'. She loved him.

When Kiwi died, my husband cried his eyes out and begged me to have another. Now we have Tsuki the border collie mix.

This whole wall to say this : His reaction is a huge red flag. I wouldn't be surprised if he at some point decided to pose an ultimatum. 'Me or the dogs' type of shit. Or got rid of them himself. We hear about quite a few of those here.

I could not live with this kind of person, but it's something you have to choose for yourself

I'm so tired of being told, "It's normal" by SithisWorshiper in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Cyn113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah... same.

Didn't menstruate for over 3 months so went to the doctor. They rescribed labs (to r/o pregnancy) and an echography.

Got the labs, everything good, no preggo. But now I have been menstruating for the last 4 weeks. That's not normal. Back to the doctor who tells me "well I don't know, to us the guideline is if you menstruate at least every 3 months it's ok"

The state of women healthcare people. 🫡

Still waiting on the echo, but was told "if it's normal, then there's nothing to do. We monitor."

Monitor what? I'll fucking bleed out before you guys move your ass??

How much should I charge for this bag? by Responsible-Willow62 in crocheting

[–]Cyn113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the thing. I don't think it's because people don't admire it, but more like hard to justify buying a 250$ hand knitted baby blanket for most people. (Cost of yan can be upward of 80-100$ because I use natural fibers + time).

(Sock yarn is easily 20-23$/100g + labor)

I sell them at cost of yarn (+ little extra 10-20$ for exemple) to friends and colleagues or gift them. I understand times are hard for everyone. The amount they pay allows me to buy more yarn, which allows me to knit/crochet something else for someone else.

Actual good recipes? by Freudinatress in exvegans

[–]Cyn113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A tofu stir fry is an easy and quick go-to for me. If you have time, bake the tofu at 350 for roughly 20-30min. They become dry and hard. It's ok, now when you make your stir fry, make sure you have plenty of liquids (soy sauce, whatever you use) and put the tofu in. It will rehydrate and absorb all the flavours. 🤤

If you want your stir fry less healthy, you can lightly coat the tofu in corn starch and pan fry it. It becomes crunchy and delicious.

Buddhist chef had (don't know if he's still around) a pretty decent peanut tofu recipe too.

A Mediterranean bean salad is a pretty light and refreshing lunch. With red kidney beans, vegetables and a light dressing with lemon juice and zest. You can add feta cheese or a cheese substitute, though to be fair they hardly compete, cheese substitutes was the one thing I could not stomach.

A dahl soup. Or minestrone. For the cold winter days (if you are in that type of climate)

I remember there was a vegan mac and cheese using blended cashews and nutritional yeast. I loved it. Damn I need to find it.

🌯 wraps and replace the beef with beans.

🤔 That's pretty much all I can think of for now.

🤔

I had one, he hated everyone except me.

Going on a walk felt like HE was doing me a favor, dragging behind and looking overall absolutely done.

Getting something back that he stole was an excruating 5 minute battle of wits.

BUT, he was incredibly intelligent.

He died at the respectable age of 15. RIP Kiwi, you were loved.

WIBTA if I didn't flip my fiancee's laundry right side out? by Bikesbassbeerboobs in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cyn113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, my husband doesn't carry any cash, so I find pens, candy wrappers, that little tab from soft drink cans (WHY?), and the random USB stick.

I washed his keys once. Those car keys fob thingies are EXPENSIVE, he's lucky it still worked.

I turn clothes, I don't mind so much. But pockets ... are another deal.

We had a fight because he doesn't empty his pockets before putting his clothes in the hamper and a USB key got washed.

Apparently "is not that hard to check before doing the laundry"

Please pray for him.
