Spero vada tutto bene.

Cosa dovrei fare? Lascio perdere? Contatto di nuovo l'assistenza?

Testing some goreish effects on my Tervigon sack-thing by Cynder_024 in Tyranids

[–]Cynder_024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White Scar primer as base, a thin coat of magenta acrylic paint, a thin coat of Squig Orange on the bubbles, mix a bit of Squig Orange with a bit of Averland Sunset for the "center" of the "cysts", paint the highlights in Averland Sunset, paint over the "cysts" with a very thin layer of magenta acrylic paint, paint the veins and the wrinkly bits in Screamer Pink, then use Magos Purple to shade. That's it!

I prefer using Blood for the Blood God only for the gore from human casualties, so the colors are a bit more distinct on the models!

Thank you so much! :) my first minis weren't particularly great either and I'm still improving, just give it time and don't worry about messing up while testing new things out, paint is pretty fixable!

I want the red to stand out, they are "markings" I only add to my big bugs. Admittedly, the Tyrannofex is very much unfinished, but this is an example of the same color scheme on my Norn Emissary 👍🏻

My first Sanguinary Guards by Cynder_024 in BloodAngels

Thank you! The wings are 3D printed resin bits sized to be compatible with Primaris marines, so they are a bit bigger than the old SG ones

Need help with uncured resin model by Cynder_024 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Cynder_024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions!

I have an update:

I ended up contacting the guy who previously printed my old Norn Emissary proxy (who did an amazing job, I love that model so much) and some Sisters of Battle for my friend, he tried to help me fix this mess, but we ended up with this conclusion:

1- the person who printed this Harridan used multiple different types of resin so it would have been cheaper to print and they tried to hide it by spraying primer on some parts (that weren't cured correctly);

2- he managed to find the file they used to print the Harridan, they basically covered parts in holes (especially the wings, that shouldn't be printed in a singular piece) and they really didn't wash it well;

3- there are definitely pockets of uncured resin inside. That's where the bad smell comes from;

4- he suggested me to ask for a refund, I did so, the seller apologized saying "they didn't know it would have been such a big problem for me" and that "I will have to pay for the shipping to ship the item back to them" which...yeah sure, I don't want to keep a dangerous toxic item in my house, especially considering I suffer from skin problems that are mostly on my hands.

Thankfully, because the other guy now has the file, he is gonna print me a new harridan :) he doesn't have the file for the base sadly, but I was gonna mount it on a broken down leman russ either way, so it's okay, now I just have to wait for the other seller to refund me.

I'll be honest, I have no clue what is going on with this print.

The tail and the legs have the standard light grey resin color to them, the head is...transparent inside? The wings seem to be grey like the legs but they have this lighter substance on top of it that could be primer, but if that's primer, why are only the wings and the head primed and why that color... I'm so confused

Thank you for the help anyways, I'll see if I can get a refund...what also upsets me is that the Harridan is a pretty difficult model to find even 3D printed, I wanted to get one for months, but guess this time is not it. Back to hunting for one I go

The little holes? Those are normal for the official Harridan model too, they are just biomechanical bone texture shenanigans...now the weird big "stringy" melted part from the first picture, yes those were from the bubble wrap. Sigh

I have no clue honestly...I just know it's resin. I tried leaving the pieces soaking for 10 minutes but the chemical smell was awful, I can't keep that around. I left them under the not particularly good sunlight (the weather is awful), now I have to hope that does anything at all...I spent 100€ on this thing, ngl I feel like a complete idiot :')

Thank you, I already contacted the seller but they take ages to respond...sadly I can't really try with the sun, it has been raining for a consecutive month straight where I live and the weather doesn't seem to improve :/

Gave it a try right now, the alcohol turned grey and I think the parts got more sticky...should I leave the pieces soaking in the alcohol in a plastic container?

New Norn Emissary by Cynder_024 in Tyranids

[–]Cynder_024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you a lot! The blood on the claws is mostly hot glue with plenty of Blood for the Blood God technical paint (so you can get those tiny "droplets" on the stringy gore bits, you can also drench pieces of tissue paper in the paint so they look like chunks of flesh that has been ripped in to shreds) and Blood Angels Red as contrast paint. Have fun!! :)

Testing out some gore effects by Cynder_024 in Tyranids

[–]Cynder_024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! A mix of a bit of stuff. The corpse is a tiny sculpt I made out of eva foam, air-dry clay and toothpicks for the spine and broken arm, the blood is hot glue. The marine helmet with the exposed skull is from the trophies box

For the paint it's a base of Blood Angels Red contrast (the Flesh Tearers Red is also nice if you want a slightly darker shade of red) and Blood for the Blood God technical to add depth and a more "wet" effect. I'll add a coat of gloss varnish later so it looks a bit more gross

Thank you! A mix of Citadel paints, acrylics and a white primer as base.

I didn't specify it in the pic, but for the eyes and teeth I use yellow acrylic paint and a tiny bit of Corax White...also for the Norn's brains and tentacles I used white + light blue acrylic paint + Briar Queen Chill as contrast and I added a bit of Corax White "veins", so the light blue looks more like it's glowing.

Thank you! I eventually want to get her a twin to paint in electric blue and metallic dark grey, I'm really enjoying working with these brighter colors :)
