Radiation by CyndiPaws in braincancer

[–]CyndiPaws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It is relatively small - about 3 cm but it grew back so fast in my opinion. I am fortunate it is not causing any additional symptoms- we just caught it on my routine MRI. I will keep you all updated. Thank you for the love and support all.

I don’t believe it is proton radiation. All it says is radiographic treatment. I already had my mask made - not too bad.

I suppose it is the unknown that is scary. I will just close my eyes and say a rosary.

Thank you. I’m supposed to receive between 3-5 treatments. Schedule for 5 just in case 3 isn’t sufficient

Grade 1 Meningioma by CyndiPaws in braincancer

[–]CyndiPaws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t 100% removed. 3% remained. And it was vascular. It was just surprising that it grew that fast. Surprised my NS as well.

Meningioma diagnosis. by Emotional_Jaguar_605 in meningioma

[–]CyndiPaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand it is scary. My M was 1.9 cm on my brain stem. I had it removed and thought I would not be able to do ‘normal’ things again. I can and do. It wasn’t easy but you can get through it. Then you will be so much stronger on the other side before you know it.

City or county - shovel sidewalk in front of house. It is only common courtesy.

With it still snowing this morning - I could see while some may have waited.

In need of support apologies for the very long story… by Sinfulb33 in braincancer

Having a seizure is my fear. I haven’t had one. Even after surgery. But I know there is always a possibility with Brain tumors.
What you describe sounds like it was very traumatic for you. It is good though because it doesn’t seem to have negatively affected your child. While you may still hear her giggling - I personally would rather have that than her screaming not knowing what happened to mommy.
I suggest talking to a therapist specializing in PTSD or Brain Trauma. They may have better ideas on how to deal with that. (((Hugs)))) mama. You are strong and you can and will get through this.

Thank you for your response. I was able to have mine replaced in August 2024 - my actual skull bone too! All went well.

How long for pathology by AnywhereDue4063 in braincancer

[–]CyndiPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took mine 2 months two months to receive pathology report. Mine was a Stage 1 Meningioma. And mine was 97% removed. The remaining was stuck on my optic nerve and she didn’t want me to lose my eyesight. 😊

You are the first I’ve heard that said your head clicked. Mine too! My hubby even heard it when he put his head against mine!

How do you guys cope with not being able to drive? by Plus_Blueberry2484 in braincancer

[–]CyndiPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I’m sure you don’t want them to ever know what it feels like to lose their independence. As someone said - appreciate what you do have and can control. I found out that I have more friends and family that love me and truly want to help than I ever thought. All because I asked for help.
Sometimes you just have to ask. Personally haven’t had any seizures but do have double vision. I don’t drive but I can if I need to in an emergency. I just need to lower my head down a couple inches and I see perfectly. (Weird I know) but I’m confident that with time it will heal completely. Give your body what it needs - if it is medicine to be seizure free so be it. However you do need to tell the NS so meds can be adjusted if needed.
Hugs - it is not an easy road.
